Seeing as how the Chris Dowie leaving the sky blues post has been mysteriously locked before I got a chance to post I have opened a new thread that after it has been read by whoever wants to read it, it can be deleted by whoever.
I find it strange that everybody is almost having a go at everybody else on this forum about their opinions on this matter when really if anybody should be shouted at or called anything it should be Chris Dowie himself. Don't get me wrong I don't know Chris apart from having played against him a couple of times but why Alex and Bremner are saying that one has done something underhand against the other etc etc baffles me. Surely if anybody has been underhand its Chris.
In my opinion, if a player has played for a club for a year or years or whatever he should have the decency to turn round to the manager of that club and say that he is leaving or staying for the following year. If things change in between again the manager should be informed before anybody comes onto a forum like this and telling others what has gone on.
I don't know what has gone on but the whole thing could have been handled a lot better by all. I understand Alex's frustrations hearing from Bremner that one of "his" players has signed for another team, but its not Bremners fault that Chris signed. Bremner I am sure had a big hand in getting the signature as you would expect - the manager of a team wants the best players available to him (and if Chris Dowie made himself available to sign for another team who is Bremner to look a gift horse in the mouth) - but again its not Bremners fault that Chris Dowie signed for Athletic. Its Chris Dowies fault for signing the Athletic form. I am saying that in a respectful way - as I said I do not know what Chris has told anybody so i am only going on what information has been posted on here. Maybe Chris told Alex, maybe Chris hasn't actually signed for Athletic, maybe, maybe, maybe. Who knows what.
Anyhow, as big Chay says no one person should be bigger than the club so good luck to Chris, Athletic and Sky Blues in the following season. Whatever happens you will all get through the next season and beyond.

Knowing Alex very well and the committee of the Sky Blue's I can't see them letting this go . I was there that night when Chris signed for the Sky Blue's and was very happy to do so . If the form is already in with the BSML it could turn out nasty indeed

Why was the origional thread locked if no-one over stepped the mark? I feel Sky Blues have reason to feel aggrieved with the way this has all panned out but the truth will come out in the end. I just feel Chris has made a mistake as he is a lot better than what athletic have to offer.
Far from being under pressure i think (from an outsiders point of view) the team spirit at the sky blues is second to none and although this is a blow they will recover from this. if the word on the street is to be believed have they not already signed two strikers in principle.
the loss of scott bruce will be a bigger blow in my opinion.

Cheers Header for your opinion which you are more than entitled to and you have brought up a lot of valid points , why the thread is locked I have no idea but at the same time I am not suprisied ,because when a thing has a monopolly on it ,it tends not to work Fact, Chris Dowie signed for the Sky Blues for next season no problem which Athletic were well aware of ,so if they signed him knowing that, they take the chance that we put our form in and we should not be made out villans for that ,saying we have been restricted because at this late stage finding a replacement could prove difficult as most players are signed up Fact, in fairness to Bremner I knew before he put it on the forum that Chris for what ever reason had a sudden change of mind so we cant blame him for that and he has been on the phone to me where lets say we had a controled conversation Fact players have went both ways between us and them before no problem and will do so again if they choose to do so Fact, Chris is gone he was a great player for us and will be for Athletic, I dont like the way it happened but he has choose to do it that way ,but although Im disappointed I hold no grudge and wish him well Fact,Chris was not the only good player at our club I have a lot of other talanted players at the club and all this is not fair on them as they have also been great for us ,so we put a end to this all and move on. How yous looking for next year mate ,we look foward to meeting you boys again |

For the record, i think it could have been Scott Bruce from Randalstown Sky Blues who locked the other thread and not me as insinuated. Scott is a moderator of this section. But Alex, as a moderator of the Sky Blues section you can also unlock or lock any thread on your section, including the one which Bruce locked. You seem to make a habbit of jumping in with both feet before checking the facts ;D I will unlock the other thread |

How yous looking for next year mate ,we look foward to meeting you boys again As I stated earlier, I was only basing my opinion on what I read so apologies to anybody who feels my comments were wrong or unjustified especially Chris who as you state did make you aware of the situation but obviously after he had signed a form for you first. Chris is entitled to do what he likes and I would like to wish him and Bremner well at Athletic. As for the Sky Blues I know this will become the minor issue that really it is. When preseason starts and there are 20 odd people running round a pitch, boking and generally feeling terrible, the last thing on their mind is where Chris will be playing his football. From what I see the Sky Blues have a good squad that has been together for a while and I am sure they will take this on the chin. Alex, you are dealing with this as I expected - wish the player well and get on with it - I just think it took you a day or two to get there. As you say it is not fair on the lads you have in the team that want to play for the Sky Blues to be dragging the issue on and on about the one player who doesn't want to play for the team. As far as next year is concerned ALex, I think it's business as usual. Not many changes that I am aware of. We had a good squad last year and we just fell short. Penarol won the league the year before with the same number of points that we had this year (and we lost our last 2 games) so I think that shows how well Castletown did to maintain such a high standard and why this league is so hard to win. There will probably be 1 or 2 faces I am sure, but we are all a bit wiser and smarter for the new season and last year was a learning curve for a lot of us especially me so hopefully we will be better placed. Am I reading correctly that Scott Bruce isn't with you this season.  |

Glad to see someone talking some sense Header. but i would like to say that Alex Rainey was showing his true coat of colours when he was mouthing of until you header came on and shamed him then all of a sudden he wishes dowie well. you are false alex and people see right through you. think dowie now has. and from what im hearing he may not be the only one on the move. great wee crumbling club you got there 58goals. sure if the pressure becomes too hot to handle, you can do what you did last year. walk out. im sure mouth piece bremner would love the chance to manage the sky blues.

Beastie how's it going big man? The whole thing could probably have been handled better but the underlying fact is that Chris is no longer a Sky Blue player. We now have to look forward and get a good pre season under our belts. We had a bad start last year and it was a big factor in us not winning the league, i think we ended up with 9 draws which killed us as we only had 2 defeats, that just cannot happen this year. We do have good young squad as you say and big Brucie will play a major role this year, super player with alot of enthusiasm who no doubt will play at a higher level but i know he is Sky Blue through and through and for the time being i'm glad to say will not be going anywhere. It makes my job alot easier with him beside me!! Eddie is 21, Quigs is 20 ish, Jordy is 20 ish, Cocky is 21 ish, Sammy is only 24-25 and Gareth and Ricky W are about the same and they are all quality that any team would want. Most of the games last year i was the oldest outfield player at 28 !!! We have youth on our side so we need to start the season right and work from there. Players will come and go as thats football, it's up to the ones who are there to show what they can do. There are others who have been asked (Young Quigs for one) to sign for Athletic so there will always be a bone of contention between the 2sides. Sky Blues like Carniny are a big First division club Beastie so hopefully drawing quality players will be a bit easier !! I can always get you a form big lad !!!

Moorso at the start I just laughed at you when you came on the Forum but now all this is starting to bore me , how you can get away with it I cant work out , Young Red Magic was carded on here for much less ,and the information your putting on here it is not hard to guess where your getting it .Chris Dowie has made his choose so good luck to him at Athletic and you don't need to keep bringing his name up as he has nothing to do with us anymore , Athletic made an attempt to sign another Sky Blue signed player on Thurday night ,it failed and the player has given us his 100% commitment so end of,I admit I did approach a Athletic player a while back but he told me he was staying with them for the time being ,I wished him well, end off ,Athletic have other good players as well but no disrespect to them I have no interest as I'm happy with the talent I have ,but no doubt as will be the same with them if there is a player I think could do a job for us he will be approached ,but in the proper and respectful way,I will be leaving the Forum for a while now except putting on any Team news. I have become a bit pissed of with how people like you can come on here and slate people without one constructive word out of you and get away with it ,but if you want to meet up some time as Ive alway said to you no problem . I have a fantastic group of talent at the Sky Blues and we will be looking forward to the challenges ahead, and my time is better spent getting the lads ready for next season. |

I do not know why everyone is getting so uptight. Have I said anything that was not correct. Received a message from the all powerfull bremner telling me to stop mouthing of (he has some neck on him telling me that) or he will get me banned. oh im scared. so i will do the right thing before power crazy bremner puts me of and i will delete my profile. wont give him the pleasure but before i go would like to say that the truth hurts especially to you Alex. you have been caught out and your bum boys all rally round you so that you think you are liked. for bremner. weedo was correct. two faced wee c**t who thinks he is something. weedo you are nothing but a bigot and a facist. so hope you all get thumped this season and no doubt i will return at some point to let you all know the truth.
