Factual Yes. Speculative NO. You denying that Dowie has signed for Athletic Alex. Open your eyes and have a look around you. My mate Paul Quiggey has told me that a certain Athletic manager, and im not fan of the mouth piece, has got some players lined up for next season. Maybe that why Dowie has signed. He wants to win something ;D

Could alex kindlylet us know if he has heard anything from the horses mouth itself? I'm sure you would agree with me that what is or whats not said is nobody's business but our great wee clubs I think we have answered all we need to do and I dont think its fair on young Dowie either ,he signed for us in front of wittinesses and Athletic know this, so I don't think they would have been stupid enough to have signed him as I'm sure they know the rules, but I heard some rumors about them signing him when he was drunk ,which by the way I heard they had done last season as well, but that only speculation and anything else you'll have to ask them

but I heard some rumors about them signing him when he was drunk Alex, with respect I feel you are doing me and Athletic a bit of injustice by the above statement. I have nothing to add at this point, but your statement is untrue and shows complete disrespect for Randalstown Athletic. If you want to bite to some arseholes thats up to you but keep us out of it as we have said nothing on this subject.

I have been watching this tail untwist itself over the last few days and going by the emails and more importantly word on the street there certainly seems to be substance to the rumours. I certainly feel bremner is fooling no one with his pathetic reply to the rumours . Surely randalstown athletic football club as a whole , should make a official reply to these rumours , after all there clubs name is being brandished with a bad name. And perhaps a few words from chris himself would not go a miss!

Chris is a great player and its only natural that other teams will be wanting to sign him, there is no secret in steeks wanting him and to be fair thats his job.(I'm sure there are others as well) How he goes about it is another thing but i don't know any facts so i can't comment on that. The only certain fact i do know is that the player told me himself that he would be playing for us next year, i suupose only time will tell. It would be a big loss to any club as when he is on form there isn't a better striker in the league. NO disrepect to anyone at Athletic but it would be a shame if he was playing second division football next year but if he did it would no doubt give Athletic a big chance of promotion. In the end the choice is his but i know i'm speaking for all at the Blues when i say i hope he is going nowhere.

I have been asked by Chris Dowie to make a comment about all the speculation surrounding him. Chris Dowie has officially informed the management of Randalstown Sky Blues that he does not want to play for them for the coming season and in fact wants to play for Randalstown Athletic next season. He had a gentleman's agreement with the manager of the Sky Blues that he would not submit his signed form until he made his final decision. He had no doubt that this would be honored. He has now decided to play for Athletic and has asked for his signed form to be discarded. This decision was made by Chris Dowie and should be respected.
I hope this clears things up. I can also understand the disappointment within the SkyBlues management team in losing such a good player, but he has made his final decision and he is adamant he wont change his mind. I just hope the SkyBlues management/committee do the right thing and discard his signed form as per his request. I think you owe him that much seeing he done so much for the SkyBlues over the last few years.
And no matter what happens he will be an Athletic player at some stage next season

here here alex, athletic havent been 2 kind on ex players of there's namely john kitson, putting in protests and the like. i think chris should of waited before he signed for the blues if he was having second thoughts instead of telling everyone he'd be there next season for definite.
but up to the player himself, great player.

Cant say one is really surprised by the outcome but going by what i have heard, thee athletic cap wont be surprised . By all accounts there persistance and the lure of gold at the end of the rainbow seem to have done the trick. Just a word to the management, your pulling the wool over no ones eyes and also to young dowie , you have not only let yourself down but your EXteam mates down .

I think some people have short memories. If you remember Chris Dowie was an Athletic player before joining the Sky Blues. He played 2 or 3 games at the start of his second season and he decided he wanted to play for the Blues. The form was signed with no problem as we respected what Chris Dowie wanted to do. Chris Dowie was our best player at the time.
Dont feel hes getting the same respect today from his current management.
As for Darren Quiggley, Scott Bruce and Jordi Craig....... all played for Athletic before joining the blues. They may have signed pre season, but I acted no different in trying to sign Chris Dowie as the manager of the Sky Blues acted when signing ex Athletic players.
As far as Im concerned, I have done nothing wrong.
And me undermine your club Alex...........pot kettle black comes to mind
