Lads, I heard about your player on Saturday who broke his leg.
How is he?
Wasn't at the game myself, but I heard it wasnt a dirty but hard tackle. And also that he'd been on the raz the night before which probably didnt help.
My best regards to him, I wish him a speedy recovery.

How would being on the raz the night before make your leg more likely to break. Thats the best one I ever heard.

Is it!? You wouldn't exactly be fit to play, and would likely be putting yourself into positions/tackles etc that you wouldn't normally do. That good enough for you!!! Also who said that being on the raz made his leg more likely to break?? I didnt! I said I'm sure being on the raz didn't help. For a wise guy you aren't very wise are you!!!!! Whats your problem!!!!!! ??

Who said I was wise lol?
I've seen many people play while badly hungover from the night before. Some of them actually played better that way.
I doubt that had anything to do with the guy breaking his leg.

Maybe it did, maybe it didnt!
Whos to know.
Anyone who plays football hung over/still half drunk is taking a chance.
Think you should read posts before commenting on whats been said in them.
I dont think takin the piss was appropriate there, when I was offering my respects.

Remember playing a match quite a few years ago and our centre half Geordie from templepatrick broke his leg. The first thing the ambulance guys asked was had he been drinking the nite before. When he told them he had approx 10 pints and 4 or 5 whiskeys they shook theyre heads and said "Well, we cant give u anything for the pain then" Needless to say he was in pure agony so i think going out on the raz isnt such a good idea. Then again - he was prob our best player until this happened! I know this isnt really anything to do with the effect drink has on ur game but i thought i'd post it anyway. All the best to the injured player though.

It was Kevin Bird's (used to do nets the odd time for canrlough....tall thin fella) son. I heard that it was broke in three places but could be wrong.

Heard at the weekend there that his thigh bone's been pushed up into his pelvis and he'll be off school for 6 months. Again, could be a rumour but thats the story at the mo. Get well soon Andrew.

Again I'd like to add Best Wishes from all at Templepatrick F.C. I dont think any of us had realised it was quite so serious.
We wish the young fella a speedy recovery.

The lad in question is Andrew Bird. The injury was a fracture of the upper femur near his pelvis (quite rare for someone so young...only 15. ) He spent 6 days in Dundonald where a titanium rod was inserted. He is now recuperating at home and is up using crutches. Dunno how long this will take but we all at Carnlough hope its sooner than later. Best Wishes Andy!

They play at 'Stoney Hill'. If you are coming from B'mena is on the Carnlough/Ballymena line. You come into Carnlough, past a caravan site on the right hand side, then a wee redbrick estate (Glenbrook) on the left. Theres a small lane in there in the left hand side and its down it. (Not actually in Carnlough village.) No sign posts or anything out on the road though which is typical!
