Its frustrating Mitty, but most teams have higher league players. it has advantages and disadvantages. We have a team thats committed this year none of our players are playing afternoon football, it is certainly an advantage to have a settled squad there most weeks. ha ha none of your players are allowed to play afternoon football ;D ;D ;D

Have to agree with you on the above point Mitty. Last year in my honest opinion we were probably the second best team in the division, I know the league position said we were third but Glencloy cheated and didnt deserve their second spot. Anyway, my point was that not only are the playoffs a lottery I think the league is wrong in the way the four teams are drawn together. For example, I think third should play sixth and fourth plays 5th. The league has it 3rd plays 5th and 4th plays 6th. We finished 10 points clear of Abbeyview last year who finished 5th. We had big players injured or suspended for the semi final and were knocked out. Will not dwell too much on that game (Sandy the plonker ;D) but you are absolutely right....top two the only way to guarantee promotion. In my time at Abbeyview we have finished in the playoffs every year. Iv lost in two semies and one final. The team have been involved in a few more before my time. Complete lottery but they are exciting and keep the league interesting so I wouldn change it. Except maybe the format as Bremner said there 3rd shold play 6th Does it really matter who plays who in the play offs. If you want to go up to the first you need to beat 2 teams no matter who they are.

Templepatricks result at the start of the season was well deserved, although Abbeyview had certainly enough changes to get something out of the game.
The View this season compared with before are unrecognisable. They have quality in every posiition, and a more than able player to come on as a sub. A very hard team to break down.
Some of the football they play is top drawer, and they for me should win the league. Their quality is there for all to see.
I have missed quite a lot of the season, so cant really comment on too many other teams

Will the tights hold out for saturday pugboat? LOL I hope so. I have a birthday party to coach!! 20 kids in Ballynahinch. Nice ;D ;D Mate i have played 90 minutes this season. I'm no use to anyone. Played against FC Antrim, and although wasn't too bad, i'm well off the match fit bracket. Fit bracket at all really lol. Gonna have to write this season off as a bad job. Had a decent pre season. But after I got married i got lazyitous. Back at trainign and doing a bit of coaching with Temple, but thats as far as it goes really. They really need me like. 8.0 win last week n all ;D ;D ;D

No thats just for junior football now. Your club has happily accepted the river pitch and simply alowed FC Moylena preference on pitch 3. Absoloute joke. That was the reason the last game was called off and it will probably happen again.
Moylena should be on the river pitch cant belive you boys let it slide without a fight.

Templepatrick 2-4 Abbeyview Cocky (2) Dee T Davy Mc Abbeyview got revenge in the derby after the defeat earlier in the season!!
We got of to a great start and were on top from the off. The pressure paid off when we got a penalty which cocky converted. We never really looked back and got the second after a great ball from Jackie from the right left Davy Mc free for a tap in. We were slightly disappointed only to hold a two goal lead at half time.
Abbeyview lifted it another gear at the start of the second half and got another goal from the penalty spot after Giler fouled Nichol. After that goal we took the foot of a bit and TFC came into the game and made a few chances and got a goal back when the ball broke to Charlie who fired home.
Abbeyview looked to have killed the game off through substitue Dee Thompson after a quick counter attack. Rab pulled the ball back for Dee Thompson to slide the ball past the TFC keeper. However TFC pulled another goal back from the spot after Giler was pulled down in the box.
Disappointed not to have won by a bigger margin but any derby win is a good one!

2 penalties & 2 offside goals ;D ;D Just from a Temple point of view Wish the view the very best for the rest of the season. A very good and organised side, who should win the league. Best Of Luck! Oh Jeff, what was with the defence runnin toward you for the kick offs? Jim not happy with yer kickin lol Only sleggin chum

Post by Jeff on Mar 31, 2008 14:38:29 GMT
Nothin to do with my kickin thats only to be used as a secret weapon. The a reason they run back is cuz we like to take short goal kicks, play it out from the back...total football.. ahh who am I trying to kid talking about football to a TFC player
