The 'TFC' had a good win at the weekend there beating Steadfast by 7. I think they are a handy enough wee team, but when they go a couple goals down they just seem content to try and kick ye off the pitch. I mean properly kick ye, not a michelin kick ye from behind and run away kick ye! If they could even get a draw it would keep the league very interesting

They wont try and kick us of the pitch They are all good lads off the pitch and they would be a better side on it f they kept their discipline!! Think we pretty much need to win every game Mitty to stay up about the top. Looking at this weeks fixtures. Would expect Keel to get 3points at home Clough will be off (again) but if by some miricle its on, they should pick up 3 Connor I expect to be off but if on I would expect you boys to pick up the 3. The best we (abbeyview) could hope for is that st comgalls take a point of Rathenraw. Cant see it though as they dont seem to be playin well maybe mower can update us. Northend v Athletic will be close as well and possibly be a draw. Most of those in and around the top should pick up 3 points if their games are on so its vital we pick up 3 points, espeially with some very tough away games to come. That said, we will try to win our games and let the rest look after themselves lol long way to go mate the season is just over half way!

To be honest mate, I think you will win the league this year no problem, IMO you certainly are the best team in division.
For ages I thought FC Antrim would come 2nd, but after seeing them against RAFC that day Im not too sure now. In saying that they might just of had a bad day.
Ballykeel are the team that have surprised me the most. ALthough they concede loads of goals they score more than they concede which always helps! Some unbelievable scorlines they have had, couple 6-5 wins, 5-4 wins, etc !
You never really know what your going to get with North End. Then theres us, RAFC and Clough for the rest of the positions. To be honest for both Clough and RAFC if they have all their higher league players available going in the midweeks, they will both win alot of games. Thats why fingers crossed we get most of our games in now!!

FC Antrim will be hard to beat they are very phisical and will bully a lot of teams, much like Northend. Not criticising them they are big sides and its just the way they play, it can be effective.
We have played Ballykeel 4 times this year and all have been high scoring games, 2 of them if my memory is right finished 6-5 lol. They seemed to have a sticky spell around xmas but have picked up again. 6-1 down at st comgalls is a great result.
Agree to with what you say about clough and RAF. RAFC in particular dont seem to be able to get a settled team out at the minute and there inconsistant results show that. Clough will struggle with the amount of games they will have to squeeze in at the end of the season. But they too can beat anyone in the division.
We have had 2 great games against Michelin this season, and two last year. Although the game we played you at the forum last year was probably our best performance of the season. I feel you are one of the strongest teams in the league and if you can put a run together you will be there abouts at the end of the season.
The league is far from over and there are a number of teams who can still win it.

Thayts the thing all the teams have to play eachother so points will be dropped. We will be doing everything we can to avoid them fn playoffs but the priority is to go up!! its exciting this year closer than its been in a while

That night you 'beat' us last season we couldnt get anywhere near ye's Our problem this season, a bit like this season, is we dont score enough goals. We are hard to beat but just dont score the goals our play deserves.Last year we were lucky enough our right back volunteered to go up front half way through the season and he started to bang them in. Unfortunatey due to afternoon commitments he's not been available every saturday this season. Thats not knocking the strikers we have, they defend from the front and work their b@lls off, but im sure every one of them would say they arent happy with their return of goals. Top 2 places is where every team wants/needs to be, the play off's are just a lottery, 2 good games is all you need to get promoted. Especially if you go into them with half your team being higher league players who havent kicked much for the team that season

Its frustrating Mitty, but most teams have higher league players. it has advantages and disadvantages. We have a team thats committed this year none of our players are playing afternoon football, it is certainly an advantage to have a settled squad there most weeks.

Have to agree that the division has been very close this season. For example we have done the double over Ballykeel beating them 4-1 and 6-2. However we have been beaten by some of the less rated teams.
Think the View should be in the top two....other than that its a difficult one to call. Think the team that puts an undefeated run til the end of the season (which wont be easy) will come close. I do however think Clough have too many games to play....I know they would prefer to play every week but playing 3 games a week for 4 weeks is hard to do. Even with their afternoon players. On that point we have only got 3 ticked players in our panel, they do make us a better team but we do have regular players not available every week. We have an outside chance for the playoffs.
FC Antrim will come close, as will Michelin. Other than that I think its between, Northend, Ballykeel, Clough and the mighty RAFC for the playoffs and 1 team I fancy to come close for a playoff place is Braid.

Especially if you go into them with half your team being higher league players who havent kicked much for the team that season Have to agree with you on the above point Mitty. Last year in my honest opinion we were probably the second best team in the division, I know the league position said we were third but Glencloy cheated and didnt deserve their second spot. Anyway, my point was that not only are the playoffs a lottery I think the league is wrong in the way the four teams are drawn together. For example, I think third should play sixth and fourth plays 5th. The league has it 3rd plays 5th and 4th plays 6th. We finished 10 points clear of Abbeyview last year who finished 5th. We had big players injured or suspended for the semi final and were knocked out. Will not dwell too much on that game (Sandy the plonker ;D) but you are absolutely right....top two the only way to guarantee promotion.

In my time at Abbeyview we have finished in the playoffs every year. Iv lost in two semies and one final. The team have been involved in a few more before my time. Complete lottery but they are exciting and keep the league interesting so I wouldn change it. Except maybe the format as Bremner said there 3rd shold play 6th

Another small point, the two teams who won the playoffs in the last two season havent really done anything....no disrespect to either team, but Connor came down with disastrous results and Waveney haven't made any impact and will be lucky if they stay up.

From what i've saw this year Abbeyview best footballing side in the division, without a doubt. Michelin good solid side, saw them against RAFC on sat and a while back in the 0-0 with Abbeyview. Good side there too. Cant see Abbeyview drop points tis saturday like against TFC! Clean sheet for the views 'Elliott Morris'
