I honestly thought a draw was a fair enough result last night lads,the view probably had most of the ball but there was very little created in front of goal,your 2 best chances came from outside the box. Someone said at the start of this thread that there was no real chances in ET,what about cocky (i think) hitting the bar then we missed a 1on1 so either team could have stole it at the end,fair play yous kept your nerve and won the shoot-out all the best in the final
PS-am still convinced the ball went through the side nettin and Colin Rainey was probably the worst man in Antrim to ask but these things happen its over now

I was at the back post dingbat with my view clearly blocked by all the other bodies in the box my eyes work the best but thanks for lookin out for me

N how many goals did you let in Davy in very few games  ;D ;D Not that i'm tryin to drag the past up mate ;D ;D  14 mate in 3 games ;D......piss yes....but you can hardly through that back at me considering Massereene conceded 21 goals in 3 games this season.......17 in 3 games on at least 1 occasion and 16 in 3 on three different occassions. But sure your not associated with them anymore.........so it doesn't matter ;D |

i would first of all like to start by congratulating abbeyview and wish them all the best in the final against waveney, it should be a really good game.
a lot of stuff has been written on here about monday night's game, some of it has been spot on and good banter some of it has been utter nonsense.
the great goal debate was it a goal? or was it not a goal? i talked to sandy after the game and he told me he could not swear it was a goal, he didn't see it, i appreciated his honesty. i asked him what he had said to colin rainey, he told me had asked him in his opinion was it a goal? colin told him that from where he was it was a goal. hence the goal was awarded. i am not for a minute saying it wasn't a goal, i didn't see it so cant really comment , sandy never saw it either so he should not have awarded the goal. it put colin in a terrible situation, he maybe told the truth but he should not have been put in that position.
i thought it was a very tight game with abbeyview enjoying the bulk of the possession, up until perks was sent off, after that i thought we were the better side and should have won it in the last 30 mins, but that is the way things go sometimes. i am very proud of all the athletic players who gave everything they had and more on monday nite, it just wasn't meant to be.

From where I was standing i didn't think that it was a goal....thats why I chased Sandy to the half way line. ;D How a ref can ask a spectators opinion on a goal is a first for me. If in doubt you can't give what you didn't see.  Alot of the athletic players did not have the belief that they could win the game and it showed. Overall I enjoed the game and it was good to get a boot at rab and a push or 2 on Stevie. ;D Good luck guys in the final. I know that you's may not necessarily want to go up this year but i think if you do you will survive in the first next year. |

well done abbeyview you's were the better team in the final.cocky was outstanding as usual, rab worked very hard up front wit that young fella zola and keith done well with a couple of saves although cuda sayed on his line 4 the goal. well deserved view
