This is going to be extremely tough as Keel are on a good run. A win is needed if we want to be in for a shout at the title. Early days I know but can't afford to drop this many points early on.

To be honest this was a strange match to play in.
The match got off well with both teams having a couple of chances early on. Keel were more up for it and chased everything. Then after about 15 minutes our wheels fell off. In 10 minutes we found ourselves 3-0 down through no marking at the back post by a midfielder, a goal being squeezed inside the keepers near post and a 25 yard screamer (it was a good goal that the keeper could get no where near).
We found the wheel, put it back on and got right back into the game. We played a good passing game but once again didn't take our chances up front. However we did pull one back before the break through a Jim Gallagher cross to the back post for Jackie Todd to head home.
Second half started as the first ended, with Abbeyview going forward playing attacking football. 2 goals from Rab Murdock levelled the game and Abbeyview pushed for the winner. Andy Robinson, Rab Murdock and myself had fine shots saved by the keeper (it was the only thing I done all match).
Then both wheels fell off. With 13 minutes to go a direct ball from the keeper straight down the middle, was allowed to bounce and their forward beat our defence for pace and slipped it home. Their last 2 goals were also defensive errors were the marking to the strikers was not tight enough.
We need more ideas up front (with midfield support) and a lot tighter defence if we are going to chase a playoff place.

we deserved more from this one but thats football i guess think it could be a long season we r struggleing to get it together we played well last nite but could not get the result too many individual errors again proved costly! like u said weeman we no wat the problem is but we dont no how to fix it, a few new signings are an absolute must.

the last 10 mins was terrible, nothing balls played up front by Ballykeel that our central defence had covered and then gave away. Hard to stomach watching but must have been so frustrating to play in after all the hard work to get to 3 - 3 and looking 4 the win. Lots of good things in the match as well so lets get the heads picked up and get on with it.

and who said the players who lefted last season wouldnt be missed!

|
Post by Jeff on Sept 2, 2005 14:41:15 GMT
its not about the players who have left in each position we have replaced those players in the starting 11 our problem is that we have such a small squad! on top of that moral is low in the squad an with so many individual errors confidence is clearly at a low! however we win as a team and lose as a team and we will bounce back!

replaced them yes but not with same types of players! that do the same job the others did last year!
