Abbeyview will take on Shore Road side Glanville star in the 2nd round of the junior shield. Hopefully the view can win this one and earn a trip a bit further away preferably somewhere up the north coast

Yes, should be a tough game against the Belfast and District league side as expected. Another away trip and I'm sure we'll have another great day out again!

Abbeyview lost this one in a game completly ruined by the weather. Same for both sides as they say and Glanville ran out 1-0 winners. Not too much else to say on this a game of little chances and little football. Disappointing really as all the lads were confident that in better conditions these guys were no great shakes. Anyways good day was had by all even though i had to leave early

Yes Jeff, absolute nightmare conditions at the Grove, and not much football played. I think our hitting the bar twice and the post in the first half cost us dearly not going in at the break with a healthy lead. Even after Glanville scraped a lucky goal, I should have scored at least once and I guess it was not to be our day. So thats our wee day outs over for another season and to be honest, anybody who gets Glanville Star in the next round and plays on a decent pitch will easily cruise by them cos the conditions suited those big lads on Saturday and they will struggle against a side that gets it down and knocks it about.
By the way: LAVERY'S BAR - 'ABBEYVIEW FC' Doubles Pool Champions - STEVIE SMITH & STEEKS BROWN. Hehe.

Ended up going (after pushing the minibus twice to get it started) to the Pony Club up the Shankill for a beer and then home to the 'breakers' were the boys showed their dancing and singing skills off, oh and we stopped somewhere along the way for a carry out too cos I remember drinking both WKD and Strongbow on the way home and it completely f**ked my guts up. But sure, it were a good day all in.
