Nice to get another home tie in a cup. Didn't fancy a trip way up their. After the last few weeks performances we fancy our chances against Glencloy but will not under estimate them.
We have to stop giving teams the lead!!

Seen Glencloy earlier in the season when playing Massereene. They are big and strong but fancy you guys to get a result. If you pass it around like you can, I fancy a 2 or 3 goal difference

we have to make home advantage count. there is nothing better than a wee cup run to extend the season.

If we don't get some sort of cup run the season will be over soon enough as we've only got 8 league games left. Can't be annoyed going to watch other teams as I prefer to play.

True Jeffrey, we never really get a run going ourselves but we're hopeful this year.
Good luck to yourselves lads

Aye fancy you's in this game as well lads. There two strikers are the only people you's have to keep an eye on. They put us out of the O'Kane Cup 2-1 earlier in the season.

Lets hope we don't take this game for granted just because they are at the foot of the first. We should have a full squad available but if it were up to me i would not change the team from last week. Everyone deserves to keep their place. However I can't see that happening as i'm sure Andy Robinson will get his shirt back up front.

Abbeyview 3 v 1 Glencloy
It only took Abbeyview 4 minutes to open the scoring when a good through ball splitting the Glencloy defence allowed Chris Lynn to run onto it and slot it by the keeper from 18 yards out. The Glencloy defence were not settled and a few more early chances were squandered by Alan Donnelly and Andy Robinson. It was however another good through ball from the Abbeyview midfield which again allowed Chris Lynn to run on to the ball and once again put the ball by the keeper.
The Glencloy forwards menaced the home teams defence with their quick pace and this paid off with their number 11 running onto the ball, rounding the keeper and slotting home. Glencloy could have leveled the game 5 minutes later when an attempted lob struck the crossbar and fell to a Glencloy midfielder 7 yards out only for him to hit the forum with it.
This was enough to push Abbeyview into a higher gear and play some neat passing football.....something that they have become accustomed to in recent weeks. Abbeyview got their 3rd 10 minutes before the break when Andy Robinson chased and hassled their centre half, dispossessed him and slotted it neatly into the corner to make it 3-1 at the half.
Their manager was given a red card by the ref during half time for what I can only imagine was something to do with the hard time he was giving the ref for the first 45 minutes.
Abbeyview once again applied early pressure down the left and right wings. Abbeyview made an early change which in turn upset their momentum and the game then became more of a midfield battle with the odd chance falling to Andy Robinson. Chris Lynn, on a hat trick, had the best chance of the half only to shoot high over the bar from close range. Glencloy shook things up a little by making a few subs. They created few chances but the Abbeyview keeper made a couple of great saves and swept up well to allow things to remain tight in the Abbeyview defence.

Quote of the day came from Jim Gallagher whilst trying to give advice to our younger players so as to beat the off side trap.........'you have to come in late and go early'!!!! ;D ;D

I watched this one and have to say that although Abbeyview were not at there best they won the game comfortably. Took the chances well and defended well in the second half and should have got a few more goals at the other end. Well done lads.

Great win for the View against Glencloy especially as this is the cup every team likes to do well in.

I saw the chance from Glencloy hitting the bar....well i had nothing else to do....how did they miss the rebound??? I saw the 'swarm' of players gathering on your pitch and then the Athletic goalkeeper trundling up 30 seconds after it's all over. He looked well out of breath;D ;D

Great win for the View against Glencloy especially as this is the cup every team likes to do well in. Don't think we will win it but at least it will give us at least another game and let others in our division catch up on our games played tally.
