Clough 4 v 3 Abbeyview Goal scorers for us were Jackie Todd and Andy Robinson 2. This match was a f**king disgrace and should never had been on from the start. It was just 22 people wading need deep in mud....FACT. The cows in clough would have been disgraced to grace on that field..........it was a f**king mud bad and no football was played...well except in the first 2 minutes cause thats how long the potato field held up for. Now you may think this is sour grapes just cause we lost but on 2 occasions I asked the ref to call the game off.....when we were 1-0 up (after only 10 minutes) and then 2-1 up. His response.....its not up to me the council said the pitch was playable!!! Now as a ref he's responsible for all 22 players on the pitch and if anyone had of seriously got hurt he was well f**ked. To top it really off the game was poised at 2-2, the ball was played off their striker, forward it went into the path of their own player who was a mile off side ye the ref played on. f**k sake the cows in the next field seen that it was off side. A f**king disgrace. They nicked a goal in the last minute of the....well I can't really call it a game of football. The only reason they won was they were bigger and stronger so were able to get their feet out of the mud quicker. I have no doubt in my mind that although we had a few players missing, we would have played them off the park. That pitch is a disgrace (think I've mentioned that before ) and should never be used as a football pitch again. I'll be suprised if a game is played on it in the next 4 months I could go on all day about this as it spoilt what was supposed to be a game of football.

If you had of kept your eyes on the game and not looking towards all those cows for their reaction, you might have won ;D ;D ;D
I have to say that I have heard so many stories about this pitch and thank god we played them at Cullybackey last week...... oh did I mention we beat them.
By the way weeman, you should get some counseling for that swearing ;D

We would have beat them if we had off palyed on something that closely resembled a football pitch. As for the cows, they were laughing that hard at the decision it was not to hard to miss them. ;D oh and the swearing.....a f**king sh1te day. the one thing I forgot to mention was that 2 boys let the team down by not weighing in at all and also our time keeping is a disgrace. Boys strolling down the town at 9.30am for a game that is supposed to start at 10.15am. Me thinks that needs sorted as we didn't have time for a warm up, team talk, get organised etc etc.

The pitch was unplayable from the start and any decent referee would have noticed that. How you allowed the so called game of football continue was beyond me. Also how you think that just because the council say its ok that it is. Any good referee knows its their decision and you used the council as an excuse. As for the danger, its there every week but when the pitch is as bad as it was the chances of seriously getting hurt was increased 10 fold.

The pitch was bad but it was worse against Braid earlier in the season. So if it was playable then saturday definately was. Weeman to say you would have beat us comfortably on a good pitch is harsh. In the end on saturday we wanted it more than u. I can back up your points about asking for the game to be called off cos Dino told me u did. It should be a good game up at the forum. Always like playing against Abbeyview good bunch of lads. ps was big Jim injured on saturday or just pissed of at the pitch???

Cloughie yes it was a bit of a harsh comment but I was really pissed of with the pitch and was in a bad mood. Your team was definitely up for it and wanted it more. We had a few boys who were not enjoying the conditions. Think the changing point was the bringing on of your big number 15 and then putting him in the middle of the park. He was strong enough to win most things in their and in the end I think that's were you's won the battle. Jim went of because of the conditions (so he says) but the touches he had before that wern't promising. I to look forward to the return leg as I agree that the game is always played in good spirit. What number were you wearing?

I wasn't playing this week cos I hurt myself last week. I was making the substitutions and they were badly needed cos theres a few guys just were running and gettin nowhere just like everyone else I suppose. what number were you weeman to see if your worth signing lol.

pitch ruined what promised to be a good game. same for both sides and all that malarky is true and i disagree that we would have won convincingly had it been a better pitch as i believe the pitch hampered clough as well pacy wingers like they have dont enjoy that type of pitch. do agree that our boys would have been much better on a pitch and would have brought a better game. all in all played in a good spirit an only ruined by the pitch! How u get boys to sign to play on that pitch is beyond me but for the record weeman was at left back then moved in to CB wen jim went off and he is on the transfer list

Actually maybe why that's why jeff never held the ball for for the shot that lead to their 4th goal. Still blurry eyed.

couldn't believe hunga gave the goal to be honest i'm still in disbelief. ah well i'll not complain. some u get some you don't. The pitch is that bad we had to play a few games at Cullybackey cos it doesn't suit us never mind anyone else. whats the asking price for Weeman still the customary fiver? Was the crazyfrog playing on saturday?
