Well, it started off like a usual derby game at a frantic pace. Thistle made all the early running as Rovers struggled to settle and took the lead through Phillip Dickey's strike from the edge of the box after about 20 minutes. Some meaty challenges between the players although the referee did well and wasnt stopping the game every 10 seconds. Rovers eventually got into their stride and hit the bar through Johnny McKeown with Big Duck the Thistle keeper well beaten. Rovers began moving the ball about well and Noods equalised after some indecision between the Thistle defenders allowed him space in the box to slot home from about ten yards. The second half was much the same although chances were at a premium, with the majority of the play taking place in the midfield. Gareth Logan hit the bar again for the Rovers and Phillip Dickey was denied a winner by a super save from Boomba in the closing minutes.
Overall, the draw was a fair result.

No crowd trouble and for once there wasnt even any fighting on the pitch. Would say you're right about the talk in the bar too!

Was a scrappy game last nite, Philip dickey scored a cracker and boomba pulled off a great save near the end to save the draw.
I thought the rovers would have put one over the thistle but cosidering the circumstances the result was fair enough.
Its possible both ahoghill teams could stay up. is it?

I remeber a couple of years ago the thistle had about 30-40 people standing up their line and the rover's line was empty
How times haqve changed!
Why the change?

Well, its not like me to be controversial but i would say that the ahoghill people know who plays the better football, thus they support us
