Always gave 100% for Rovers. Mellon and Macky used to score loads of goals between them. Is Macky playing again?

Back in training, making a few appearances from the subs bench when required. Managed to score on saturday morning and hoping to be fully healed for pre season.

I'll have a think and see who i come up with.

After much thought and consideration I’ve decided against doing a best XI but here is in my opinion what I think would be Ahoghill Rovers best ever squad. Denis Robinson, Steven Crawford, Bobby Mitchell, Stewart Henry, Billy Johnston, Ryan Morrow, Steven Cathcart, Kenny McDowell, Bryan Neill, Gary Tennant, Jimmy Hayburn, Ronnie Mellon, Colin Hayburn, Steven Young, Melvyn Logan, Ryan McIntyre (only cos you included me in your earlier selection, Ronaldo ;D;D) The majority come from the older generation of Rovers players. I’m sure there will be those who disagree but as the saying goes, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one!!

I know everyone else but who is Bobby Mitchell & Billy Johnston I also can remember ages ago (about 10 years) going to watch the Rovers in a cup final!! I think it was a long drive away so would it of been the Junior shield or sumfin?? Which brings me to my next question, how many titles or cups has the MIGHTY Rovers won in their history???

You're bound to remember Billy(chin)Johnston - played for Rovers for yonks before he got a transfer to the Betterware door to door Sales team!!
Bobby Mitchell was from Ballymena and played for a few teams in the BSML . He always gave 110%. He was a really good ball player but could get his foot in when he had too.
Think the match you're talking about was the Semi-final of the Junior Shield that was played at Taylors Avenue, Carrick back in 1994/95 season.
We had a good side then but were beaten 3-1 by Immaculata from Belfast.

Had to give my 10p worth here. Young bumper was the best footballer I ever watched. Studs was 1 of the hardest midfielders about and Whuzzer Mellon as you say scored goals for fun. Tosh you werent too bad yersel kid. The Hayburns were great players too. Then there was Billy Johnston I can still hear that voice now lol. Best player never to play for the rovers...ME LMFAO
