Good to finish the league season with a hard-fought win over northend today.
With northend needing to win to stay up, as expected they started strongly and for the first 20 minutes they were the better team. We eventually got ourselves back into the game and took the lead from a Tom Agnew header after a good header back across the goal from Sexy. Thought for the rest of the half we dominated without ever really troubling baby pj in nets.
2nd half northend got right us again, pressed us really well and started to control the game, playing some lovely football at times too. They scored an equaliser and soon after scored a second after a great move. We managed to get back into the game with About 15 minutes left after a great cross from Tommy McCullough has headed in by sexy. In truth I think the equaliser knocked the stuffing out of NE , as after that we took control of the game, Davy browns wee lad twice came close to scoring ( one cleared off the line with a great clearance from deo ) and big Sexy scored 2 in the last 5 minutes for a good and well deserved hat trick.
At times today we couldn't get the ball off northend, they played some lovely stuff. If they can keep that squad together then I would think they will do very well in the 2nd division next season.
For us, weve a week break now before a massive game away to Abbeyview in the cup on Saturday.
