What a man and what a journalist. Just your complete football man. Described in the media today as an encyclopaedia of football. Couldn't describe him any better. Only met him once at the Linfield 125 anniversary dinner and he was a complete gent.
Irish league football lost a son today.

A real loss to local journalism. I work with one of his sons and he would tell the odd story about the players his father used to introduce him too, including one about Geordie Best staying at their house one night after being out for a few drinks after an international game. The funny thing about it is the son has no interest in sport whatsoever, so whereas we loved hearing about him meeting players like Best, Moore, etc, it really didnt interest him at the time meeting these them, said he could have been at 4 or 5 world cups all around the world, but again had no interest ;D He was telling me a couple months ago that the family had been at Malcolm about writing an autobiography but he was still so busy doing match reports every couple days that i don't think he ever got round to it, which is a real shame cause I'm sure he would have had some great tales in it
