Highs- winning the first with carniny against the homers in front of a big crowd. Winninh the second division with abbeyview and getting the league player of the year. Also won a few cups along the way.
Lows- losing the league against all saints last season. Missing the last pen in a penalty shoot out for moylena against sky blues after the previous 9 penalties were all scored. Also losing out on the 2nd div top scorer by 1 goal the year we won it.
Funny moment- playing for abbeyview the year after castetown folded and hearing mickey quinn cheering us on by shoutung pretend your playing for castletown and u will win.

Couple of old penarol ones pele will recall...away to derriaghy in Jun shield the year we got relegated, wee finlay is announcing the team, big Micky King is busy laughing at his own jokes and doesn't hear himself being dropped to the bench, wee finlay near cracked up when he realised big bolt neck hadn't been listening and was arguing with someone about what number of shirt he wanted
Okane Cup Final boxing day...Andy Erwin and the suit...when he really needed a heavy coat
And one from before pele's time..wee finlay trying to give team talk one Saturday morning while Gary Stewart is running a set of clippers round Willie Barr's hair in the corner of the changing room, Stewarty just looked at him and says, "I'll be done here in a minute Fin"

i have 3 moments that stand out very much for me in my time as player , and as the innocent by stander ( technical adviser on strategy ) to pele for broadway celtic . they are of striking contrast are are very much stand out moments for me in my history in the BSML . first one as a player was the night i was playing for carniny in the top 4 semi of 92 at a huge huge crowd in wakehurst . my next door neighbour ian boomer bamber was doing nets for the mighty homers , i was given a free roll by henry spence and joe o hara , i was able to wait on boomer coming out of the changing room and i offered him a bet that i would put a couple in , he said yes , cant remember what the bet was , but i scored a hat trick in the first 15 mins , the game was well over and carniny went out a cracking 5-1 winners , i got a huge roaring clap from the huge huge crowd , and for those who think i was a dreamer , at this stage i was better than 9 out of 10m players who have played since , so theres one for ye , and for those who wont admit it , they just hent the balls to tell the fukin truth lol. ........and secondly then there was the day my beloved wee broadway celtic were playing the club i grew up through , carniny rgs coming towards the end of the season of 2009/10 . huge crowd at the showgrounds , i had adopted the name of shermourinhio as my long coat and extremely wise tactical advice to then manager PELE , was seen to be a stark reminder that i was very much not from the same bottle but that i was actually a special one lol. so anyway the game was a great game , end to end stuff , carniny were 1-0 up and we had a corner in the last min , i said to PELE go up , go on u have nothing to lose , he took my directions and indeed latched onto a corner with his head and well , the roar from our line was unreal , i sprinted into the mucky mucky pitch not giving a f**k , mourinhio style , it truly was one of the best moments in my time in the BSML . i cant say what it was like , it was truely remarkable and was indeed a pleasure to have been part of the changing room atmosphere that day , it was what broadway celtic was all about , so on the turn of a coin one was with carniny and the other was against , doesnt take away the fact they were the club i once loved and all that was to do with them , i washed the boots , played , scored , then went to other clubs , however the night i was the king of wakehurst for them , which i was on many occassions , they can take my dignity , but they can never take my pride .

the 3rd was one night i was playing for waveny swifts a couple of seasons ago , i realised that having not trained and given it my all when i was younger , that it had caught up with me , i felt emotional , i felt somewhat like i was gonna cry , i actually felt like walking of the pitch to be honest , i realised id never play compettive soccer again , cos i was overweight , and lost out on the best thing that was ever given to me , a natural ability to play the game , this is just a personal obituary , sorry if it makes u boke , but if u had the skill i had when i was 20yo youd know what i was feeling lads , .

Few great moments in my short career 1st would have to be my 1st season with northend when we where getting tanked every game that season but we beat sky blues 3-1 at dunfane and i can honestly say the feeling i had the whole weekend was unreal. But winning the 2nd last season unbeaten was a awesome feat and the game against the thistle at dunfane when we simply outplayed and bullied them off every ball was awesome tbh after donald and bear hit mcburney and an another in the 1st few mins i could see the fear in there eyes and the game was won.......Buzzzzzz Scoring 11 goals that season was also a great acheivment with a few crackers but my free kick against 7towers was the highlight with management team m8s all shouting and roaring "what the f**k u doing " " this wasnt discussed " " it'll be the first and last" only for big b to hit the winner northends players player of the year also meant so much. Low points have to be us not showing up against thistle in 2nd div cup final and getting beat 1-0 when tbh we where a far better team the whole season and it was just 1 of those days Also the 1 -0 defeat against moylena where i miss judged the bounce of a ball in the dying mins of carslberg cup semi final to let big stefan run on and score the winner. But im sure theres alot more to come from big b.

I honestly never knew you were such a good player. Did you ever play Irish League or even get a chance over the pond? I know there wasnt the same scouting as there is nowand a lot of good players missed out but it sounds like the ability was definitely there.

Pele folded Brokeback Celtic, you sure you wanna trust his? Three managers after me Yyyeeeooowww you didn't like that one!! In all seriousness though, was it not Rubberman that was in control when Brokeback folded??? That can't be a nice feeling, knowing you folded the club you loved so dearly.

Cracking thread!! Nice to discuss the good things we have achieved - and (even though it sounds cheesy as fck) it shows how much of an impact our local league has had on so many people!!
Best moment for me - winning back to back playoffs with Waveney under big Cecil - great team consisting of the likes of jay stephens, ciaran lemon, paul heffron, neil mcfadden, big bear, kenny wright, ryan burnett and ernie corry to name a few!!
Lowest moment was letting myself down by argueing with a fellow team mate out in Ahoghill one morning ending up in me leaving the team!! If i had to do it again i would have stayed!!
