Is this forum slowly dying away?? With the new facebook page getting rave reviews is our beloved forum fading away........ Just not what it used to be

It died a death a couple of months ago, a few bits of drama got it on the go again for a brief period but it's away again.
I'd much rather have on here than the facebook page

Think jonny it's been even longer than a couple months, past year or so ( with the odd exception) it's kinda been going that way. Maybe were all just getting too old ;D

I have to say I totally agree lads. It used to be superb banter every other day on here but now even the most frequent posters hardly post.
I seen this coming over a year ago and made suggestions to try and improve the forum and keep it healthy but it went on deaf ears.
With Facebook and twitter people aren't logging on the same either as its handier to get results there.
Times are changing but I'm sure we will always get the odd popcorn thread ;D

I agree lads, there's definately not as much banter on here anymore. Was actually chatting to another forum member about this not so long ago. Forget about Twitter and Facebook - the forums are totally different and so should be used in a different way! The forums are about actually discussing particular aspects of OUR league, not bulls**t that goes on outside of the league, which generally seems to creep in now and again, which will obviously put users off. The forums used to be about posting match reports (whether you win, lose or draw), comments on these matches and the usual "transfer speculation" that we all love...as well as some football banter (non-bsml related) and non-football related chat. I have got slightly pissed with some of the craic that happens on here now and hence my lack of posting (and Im sure a few others feel the same way too) Some users are posting just to get the "popcorn thread" on the go, and try to initiate an argument or some drama. Now I enjoy a "popcorn thread" as much as the next person, but only when it is a spontaneous one, and not a planned one. It just gets boring and way too predictable. I also think some guys are taking "banter" and the slagging a little too seriously. We are BSML not friggin Premier League like....and when someone gets a hard time or their team gets it tough, they get all huffy and either stop posting or get personal. There are 3 people I miss about the forums, and if our current users changed their mindset to that of these guys then everything would be hunky dory -- Ratman / Becks23 and god rest his soul TheLawnMowerMan. Now, with deep regret, we cannot obviously get TheLawnMowerMan back....but I say we start a petition to get Becks23 and Ratman back on here fulltime....or at least get them to write a set of rules that we all have to abide by!!! Rant over!

I blame the head moderators :-) Where's my like / retweet / favourite button!!?! I can remember a Like/unlike button being discussed (needed to wait for proboards to upgrade) but nothing ever came of it. Like Sega Megadrives, Cremola Foam and Shannon Tweed films on Ch5 Friday nights all good things eventually fade away

Have to say that the Forum is a shadow of what it used to be. However, ironically the very person who started this thread was a culprit of many to its downfall.
Pelefromthewavney is correct, no one posts about their games, transfers or any craic that goes around the clubs. To many pr1cks posting about religious sh1te.
Unfortunately I cannot make proboards update the website, I simply have to wait like everyone else.
The Forum in my opinion is completely different from Facebook and Twitter. I have to say, I love shermourinho BSML Facebook page, but it's not a discussion site. This is a site that you can leave a message then log in 2 days later to see any responses, facebook has not got that.
On a personal note, I am no longer involved with any side therefore I can't post my sh1te, which I know always caused a stir. As much as I detested mower, he is sorely missed.
The members of this forum are responsible for any success or failure of the site, so if it fails it's down to you all. I hope that this doesn't happen and we do still get over 100 people logging on every day.
Stop posting the religious nonsense and I think you will find that members will regain some normality and confidence with the site

Some great points Bumface, well made!
Was actually talking to a forum legend tonight in Tesco who never posts anymore and his exact words were 'too many Bawbags posting political crap and taking sides'. He shared my opinion that the craic is nothing like it was in years gone by.
I have to say though, we've always had a problem with sectarianism creeping in, back in the less pc days there were some right ding dongs. We always dealt with them though. I admit though, I never felt such a bad atmosphere back then in general as I have felt the last year or so. God knows, maybe it's because I'd old now lol!
We've lost some fantastic posters over the years. Particularly Mower (God Bless him), Pughole, who I enjoyed, the great Rat and Becks combo, Gawa, Pav...the list goes on.
Obviously I'm a forum man as opposed to bakebook, despite the efforts of a former friend lol., so I'm not qualified to compare like for like.

My point exactly.......too many Bawbags ruining it or the mass. I also want to reiterate that the members are at fault for not posting against the religious sh1te. Members can still post on their own teams threads giving us details of the clubs. They don't need to get involved so excuses don't wear with me. Any ideas from all the members to get the forum up to an acceptable standard would be well received So members, let me hear your suggestions

Ps if you's all had of supported newco Randalstown and got them back in the league this would not be the case. It's your own faults.

Facebook is excellent for what it. Is but it's not a chat forum so I can get over it. Plus if someone had had be decency to contact me about the new RAFC....then maybe my Look into my eyes skills would have got us into the league

It's easy to blame the religious s**t but I can't actually remember the last time it actually kicked of its simple too if ye dont like whats in a thread dont read it move on to one your interested in. The problem is for the amount of members on here most are just lurkers there has to be something that could get them posting they are still comin on everyday when no threads are being updated so if more people posted rather than the core of about 20 people posting! If everyone started even by just updating their own teams sections with match reports etc it would soon get discussions going. Would hate to see the forums die but it really is s**te at the minute
