Good result today, although the game should have been dead and buried after an hour cause we didnt take our chances, we had to hang on in the end.
1st half was probably the best we've played all season even though we were 1 down in the first 5 minutes from a soft pen. We equalised soon after from Tom Agnew with a Thierry Henry like finish (he bought me a pint to say that ;D ) after some great build up play from the back. Took the lead before Half time from a pen from McQuitty after he was brought down. Totally dominated at this stage but couldnt score any more.
2nd half Crilly scored the third , collected the ball from just in their half, beat 3 or 4 men then stuck it past their keeper. After that we still missed more chances, with about 15 mins left they got another soft pen which they scored and it was backs to the wall from then until full time.
Think that was their first proper match of the season cause of problems with their first team, they had 3 or 4 really good players , the usual Belfast hatchet man who could of got sent off 3 times until the ref told their manager to sub him before he was sent off!
For us, although everybody put in a great shift, Conor Crilly was outstanding today.
Nice wee week off next week for some hoofers wedding!
