Great beating the champions tonight but far more importantly it's great finally getting a win this season.
The game was a battle throughout, wee Alan has taken off injured early doors which was a blow to them. Wasn't too many chances throughout the first half, both Sean and Brian pulled off good saves, mcquitty screwed one wide for us and wee Wicko had a couple half chances too.
2nd half started off much the same, though we managed to take the lead when mcquiity shinned one in the top corner after good work from Neil Tully of all people. Saints got back into it when wilco finished well from the edge of the box. Just before we conceded we started to panic a bit in possession which meant ASOB kept plenty of pressure on us, without really breaking through. We scored the winner with a few mins left, good work from Crilly knocking the ball back to Orrin Waring to smash in. ASOB three everything forward after and nearly equalised twice, hit the post and Gavin missed a half chance right at the death.
Massive 3 points for us, hopefully proves to a few of our lads we can compete with anybody on our day. To a man, every one if them were superb tonight, from Sean right through to big Snowy when he came on.
Good luck to saints until we play them again, wouldn't want to be the team playing them
