now that the forums are back up and running, let me be the first to congratulate chrissy graham on scoring all 5 of our goals in our first competitive game of the season.
We were aware before the game than Glenravel could have a few missing, but you have to beat whats in front of you and we fully deserved the win. The fact we were a little dissapointed at half time despite being 3-0 up shows how far weve come as a club.
Good luck to Glenravel for the rest of their debut season, it looks like they will have the same issues as a few teams that when there is a gaelic/hurling match on then soccer will always come second.

Cheers Square! I am trying not to get too carried away though! Take every game as it comes.
I think we played very well as a team, think me and Sean have a decent partnership up front and Square and Ricky are starting to form a great partnership in the middle, if Square can stay fit javascript:add("%20:-*") lol.
Thought wee Cormac and Ricky played very well last night and the defence was very solid once again! Paul Devlin is definitely looking the signing of the season, for us anyway.
Hope we can continue like this going into the league and get a good run going! Well done boys!
Also, good luck to Glenravel for the season!

Good game last night lads. Yous done well and always looking to pass it and could of been more only for some bad decisions in and around the box. Well done to wee striker who got all five, sets him up nicely for the season, he must of learned from his misses against northend Had to laugh at the legend that is Damian Casey last night, brings himself on into what position I don't know(free role maybe) then at every attack he was in the box dying for a goal and when it wasn't passed to him went completely mental ;D but the best of the night was when he tried a fancy back heel and nearly landed in a heap on the ground, David Dunn style ;D obv started fixing the grass as the ball had hit a bump ;D All in all an impressive start from the division three favs!

haha pele he tried that back heel right in front of us on the sideline (i had went off injured ;D) and no one wanted to laugh in case he got up and got tore in to us lol all chrisyys finishes were hit first time, the first two were excellent. Not often you chip the keeper twice in the same game. Agree with Chris about Paul devlin, there arent many wingers that will get much change out of him this season.

Haha I can only remember missing one good chance against Northend?? But cheers mate!
Division three favorites?? Dont be putting that pressure on us mate lol, think we need to take one step at a time here.
We need to remember we finished 9th or something last season, will be tough to go from that to promotion but we will fight to the end.

We done some cheering when he fell then when he skinned half the team in the second half we gave him another roar ;D Wee Paul has loads of ability just needs to believe in himself more and open his mouth ;D

Haha def cant see that happening!
We have a very similar squad to last year, only we are a lot more organised this year and everyone knows their roles which makes everything a lot easier on the pitch!

I wouldn't listen to Pele, Chrissy! He's only tagging us as favs cause he has a few quid on someone else, just wants the odds to improve! As for it being over by Xmas, it certainly had been for us the past two years pele , lets hope we have a change in fortunes this year! There's a rumour going about that BFP has a video of someone missing a sitter of a header from a corner in the asob game tonight........ Who was that? I expect much more from glenravel when we meet in the league, missing a full team from the sound of things? We might have to relay on a Casey flick or trick :[ to win it for us next time

Another big game away to Glenravel this weekend.
We had a good solid win last time, but we know they had half their team missing so we're not expecting the same kind of game. Def going to be tougher.

will be a tight game, and these boys have been going very well. We should be pretty much full strength accept for Midge so there is no reason we cant take all 3 points. Im convinced the smaller pitches we play on when away from home suit us more than the showgrounds so lets give everything to keep this mini-run of form going.

thought darren was excellent yet again, scored 1 and set up 2! i think he's been involved in nearly all our goals since he signed. the rest of the team were first class too and i dont know about anyone else but i was expecting a little more from Glenravel as they seem to have been going very well recently. If we play like that then we shouldnt fear anoyone in our league, lets hope we can keep it going.

Post by square on Nov 26, 2012 13:37:01 GMT
Mark mcferran, hes married to Burgoyne's sister and as far as i know does nets for rasharkin gaelie team. excellent keeper, he's played 3 games and made about a dozen excellent saves, plus four or five 1 on 1's. makes a big difference to us.

At least 17 saves in 3 matches, defence must be top class.
