Farah simply awesome again. The Jamaican relay team possibly quicker even than them boys from on here who got a poll, Campbell totally superb against Nevin.
Superb stuff.
All while trying to watch United play like twats for 80 mins and win.

Some achievements by all winning Olympic medals but thats it I'd say rory? personally thought the chinese guy lost his last two fights but walks off with a gold. barnes beat him and the thai definitely beat him tonight. luke campbell was impressive. john joe nevin is a top class fighter & campbell made him look poor. credit when it's due. absolutely delighted for farah. guys a legend. |

No I'm somebody else All pro golfers begin their career as amateurs and the best turn pro to make some cash. Likewise in boxing. My prediction is none of the boxers mentioned on this thread fighting in the Olympics will be talked about in future years for what they achieve as professionals. |

No I'm somebody else your jokes definitely used to be better. on the boxers i'd say a few of them will go on to good things. takes time though. of the last olympics you had saunders, degale & although never competed frankie gavin all went pro. saunders & gavin are still 100% wins. degale lost to groves but bounced back to win the european belt. those 3 all going well but 4 years isnt a long time in pro boxing & they are still just learning the business. Pro & amateur are very different in boxing. nevin v campbell, as a pro bout thats scored 30-26, as amateur it was what, 14-11. say in last 20 secs nevin caught campbell with a combo. he walks out as winner. in a pro fight, campbell won 10-9 in first two & if the combo lands you might upgrade nevins 10-8 loss in the last round to a 10-9 loss. still hammered & the better fighter gets the gold. both called boxing but two totally different sports. look at audley for a start, gold medallist but once he started getting hit without a head guard & extra padded gloves he began to retreat & try to fight on the back foot. that style couldn't win fights in amateur boxing. personally i think those two, nevin & campbell could be good. nevin is a banger & campbells footwork, speed & counter punching remind me a bit of pretty boy floyd. likes of paddy barnes i'd say wouldn't make it as i dont think he has the right mentality for it. when things go wrong he walks onto punches & loses the head. in the pro game the only thing you'll get from that is a wee spell, flat on your back. one thing i can guarantee is that all the british/irish medallists will be hearing from warren & maloney in the next few weeks. |
