Just to let some people know the manager of Glenravel F.C. is Vincent Birt, and the Secretary is Joe Burrell. I can tell you that we were never approched by any member of the league to put in a request to enter the BMSL this was submitted by the Glenravel F.C. members once it was agreed that the council was going to up grade the football pitch in Cargan.
We are sorry that Randlestown did not get it, but this was not Glenravels decision.

Why would the person that told me this go out of there way to make something like this up ??
Btw we have no problems with glenravel we just feel we have been unfairly treated.

I keep seeing about Randalstown teams "objecting" & "putting the boot in" as far as I'm aware nobody at The Reds was even contacted regarding Athletic, it wouldn't have anything to do with us. All our players, bar two lads from Castledawson have resigned, so losing players to them wasn't a worry. As I say weather they got in or not was absolutely nothing to do with us. good 2 see 1 of the rstown teams come out and say that they didnt object in anyway 2 a new team in rstown, now every1 knows that it wasnt only the league who did stab the new team in the back, |

I would say that Joeb is 100% correct and I know exactly where the story is coming from, and to be honest I'm very disappointed in that person, but ultimately I'm not very surprised as its not the first time he has tried to stir sh1t of this kind. Honestly Chris if I were you I wouldn't pay any attention to what you have heard.

Yes mate.. Was just gonna do it to get us up and running and hopefully get some1 else in. Wasnt to bothered on playing only if I needed to tbh. chris you can help out with the coaching at mich if you fancy it  ;D |

Would just like to add, that I heard many weeks ago that a Randalstown team had applied and that regardless of what teams had applied, they were not getting in. I know nothing about the Glenravel situation so I cannot comment. For me the league has to take every application on its merit and therefore must have a written process and criteria that teams have to adhere to and meet. I would be interested then why pick one team over the other. I think that's what the league have to explain, so that maybe next year the applying team can rectify their inadequacies and be better prepared to have a successful application. I also think that the Rainey Cup is a great competition and is a well sponsored trophy |

I would say all applicants were looked at and considered and the best two chosen.

To my knowledge all 3 teams at the meeting were told that they met the criteria, so no problem there, the problem that needs addressed is when did glenravels submit their letter of interest or more to the point did they even submit a letter or were they just gerrymandered into the league. Monty was very reluctant to discuss this last night. |
