New Season - new Manager for Waveney Swift FC. Mark Copeland will be taking over as Manager from this season and hopefully long-term. He brings along with him ex-Waveney Swifts player Peter Nixon as his assistant coach / mastermind tactician.  Mark played a bunch of games for the Waveney last year, and brings with him a wealth of experience as well as some fresh ideas for matches and training. The legend that is Ernie Corry will be staying on in a Coaching role, as well as in our backroom staff, helping out when he has time and when needed. Albert will also be staying on this season as Secretary. We have had a couple of pre-season training sessions already and it looks like Mark and Peter have a good setup in order. We have also lost only one player from last year, in Rodney Beggs, who I wish all the best at his new club. The mentality of "we took us down, now we have to get us back up" seems to be very prominent in the team at the minute, with a lot of hard work already going in and lads signed on the dotted line. Credit where credit is due! Big push this year lads, its not going to be easy and we will not be underestimating any of the teams in the third division by a long shot. C'mon Wee Swifts!! |

Think some of the waveney players need to take a look at themselves only 8 at training every wk 4 pre season is a disgrace ,the players took the club down it's up to us to bring them up again,u dnt want to play 4 Waveney then go sign 4 some1 else

From wat I heard the night at the match it's shocking a certain person at there work slabberin bout his team mates to the point they walk off !! It's not on at all!!!!

We were up 3 nil Kenny and Waveney brought it back although we won 4-3 it was good of them to keep fighting.Some good players there and sure slabberring goes on at most teams.

Hopefully some day he'll get the hunger back and come in to help the club through this bad patch!! A lot of teams at this level will struggle over the next few seasons unfortunately!! |
