Proud as f**k mixed in with being gutted as f**k leading and not holding on. Gonna be that kinda season for us I think. Can't defend, city couldve had 5 or 6 at least but we still scared the f**k outta them!
Said after 5 mins wee Stevie should have been on, we didnt keep possession anywhere near enough and he's the sort of player who can put his foot on the ball and calm things down a bit!
Big Rickie Lambert will get 10 + goals this season easy, called it months ago. Much better player/ finisher than people give credit for!
Really looking forward to next game now!

Great to see the way Southampton finished the game, very positive.
First half City basically took the piss and were near paid for being complacent.
I thought Davis done well, very tidy on the ball and a great strike for his goal.

Yeah pele they were starting to take the piss a bit at a stage, dangerous game to play when your only a goal up, near paid for it too  The wee 17 year old done okay but (understandably) panicked in possession alot and thats where I think we needed Davis on to take the sting out of a bit. There will be plenty of goals in saints games this season thats for sure  |

Fully expect us to be looking for a new manager in the next couple days. Stevie wonder could see we needed 2 new centre half's this season, the two we have couldn't defend in the championship last season so they were never going to cut it in the EPL. The result tonight will be the final straw.

Unfortunaltey so, he seems like a decent spud and all but as a centre half he is truly awful, bad in the SPL, bad in the championship but yet starts in Premier league? I like Atkins, as you say he's done brilliant for us, back to back promotions and all, but we look like conceding every time the other team attacks in every game. He's also dropped Lambert after scoring against both utd and s**tty which turned alot of supporters against him. |

i do like lambert. i watched a few saints games early this year & couldn't understand why he wasn't putting lambert and davis on the team sheet before anyone else. for a promoted side it's all about scrapping in your first year & if you's can steady the ship at the back a bit, there's enough bad teams in the league to finish above.
