Jesus... I have to say that is the best post I've ever read on these forums!! Excellent BFP and taking time to mention every single person ye could think of, even players who left...fantastic!! Just shows what yer club is all about and I am delighted yese got yer rewards!! Couldn't agree more about Hudson either...seeing him with the kid and the Saints hat (superb!!) was an amazing scene for someone who IMO defines the term "club man"!!! Maybe a tad less praise for Maybin from now on...that would be my only complaint!!

Now the dust has settled down a bit and everyone has had time to reflect on what happened on Saturday, can I first of all thank every single person that was down at the match on Saturday and making it such an amazing spectacle, in particular from an ASOB perspective I would like to thank all those that were down in support of us, we really were genuinely humbled by the large numbers there shouting us on, you were all a credit to our club and most of all a credit to yourselves. Secondly on behalf of Joe, Myself and Shea, can I thank each and every single playing member of All Saints old boys this season, you's have been an absolute joy to manage all year long, mucked in through the dirty wet nights, dug deep in training when the going got tough, continued to come to every game when injured, didn't moan (too much ) when not starting, contributed to all fundraisers and basically bought into every single inch of what the club is about. We have said it time and time again, that we are not just a football team, but we are also a family and that's something that we pride ourselves on. I got a text from one of my players yesterday and it said "Yesterday we were crowned the best team in the league. But we've been the best club for a good few years now" I never thought about that before, but in my opinion those words are so true, and I think any current or past player that has played for any other club will back those words up. Thirdly (and there will be alot more "ly" numbers to follow) to all the new players that came in this season, Gavvy Burnside, Andy Bird, Philip Lynn, Alan Telford, Pete 'The Pistol' McReynolds, Dunga, Donald Crawford, Kieran Loughran (I hope I havent missed anyone), again a massive massive thanks, you's have without doubt been the missing link for us and are definately the reason why we bridged the gap with Carniny and Homers in such a short space of time. Fourthly, and I deliberately left him out of the above, to Mickey Maybin, what can I say about this man, for us to be able to sign a player of his quality who is the reigning league player of the year was an unreal coup for us, not only for his quality and leadership, but also because without him then the majority of the above named players wouldn't have even been at the club. When Mickey agreed to sign for us, he also started a recruitment drive and asked (more like threatened actually) most of the named players to come along with him and he promised them a league title, he certainly stuck to his side of the bargain with these boys and we are so grateful he did. Cheers again Micko. Fifthly,a big thanks to Sherman and big Hugo McNiece for the pics they have posted on facebook, they are class and almost bring a tear to the eye looking at them. Also a massive thanks to Damien Kelly for going to the bother of videoing the game for us, watching it back in the bar immediately after the game was something that I will take to the grave with me. The atmosphere in the bar watching it back was almost as tense as it was during the game, felt like I was kicking every ball all over again, we still weren't certain that we had done it until we saw the proof on the big screen Sixthly, It was superb to see so many ASOB legends down at the game, Des Lemon, Marty O'Loughlin, Gerard 'bird' O'Kane, Barney McCann, Damian 'bishop' Casey, Cormac McGreevy, Paul Curry, Kieran 'windas' McKeown, Peter Lemon, Eileen Hudson, wee Shaun McLaughlin, Timmy Connolly and the biggest legend of them all, Ally 'Hugo' McGarry the man with green and black blood running through his veins. This triumph was every bit as much for you's as it was for us. Seventhly (nearly there), a massive thanks to Carniny who made the game what it was, and after the game every single one of their players, manager Dobbie Young and staff went round our whole team, shook our hands and warmly congratulated all of us, that was a very humble experience for me to hear those words from a team with such a legendary status within Ballymena and N. Ireland junior football, thanks again lads. Eightly, can I say a massive big thanks to Shea Hamill for everything he has done for our club, he has certainly taken us to that next level and made us what we are, I and the club will be eternally grateful to him, and we would like to wish him a very speedy recovery from the freak injury that he picked up on Saturday. Also a massive massive thanks and congratulations to wee Joe 'Juinor' Montgomery, since he joined up with the saints he has been nothing short of superb. He went through a couple of periods where he doubted he was the right man for the job, (as everyone does at certain times) but I always knew he was capable of helping us achieve the highest accolade in the BSML. When Ally McGarry had to leave the management team due to family commitments, we knew that Joe was the one and only person that we wanted to bring in to replace him and so we went after him. That decision turned out to be a master stroke, what he has brought to the club is nothing short of sensational and he is now firmly a permanent fixture of the club. He gets a lot of very unfair stick and sickening abuse from some other teams because of his past involvement in the running of the league and because his father runs the league, a lot of this abuse is very personal and very hurtful to both him and his father, however he rises above this and never lets it get in the way of his focus on team affairs, we at ASOB are very very grateful and thankful to have him. Ninethly, A massive massive thanks to Neilly McGarry senior, Steven McGarry, Neilly McGarry Junior and everyone involved with Favour Pet foods. The financial and the general support you have given us from 2002 onwards has been absolutely superb towards the club, and we will always be very very grateful for this, I'm just so glad we can now finally repay you with the biggest prize of all. Last and by no means least, can I now say what an absolute honour it is to have a man of the stature of Eoin Hudson to represent me and my club as captain of the team that brought me my finest ever sporting achievement. He is without doubt the biggest and most ardent fan of All Saints Old Boys and we are so so lucky to have him. He has had a lot of ups and downs this season through injury, but he kept coming back and never once let us down, he had a mare of a first half against Mo in our first league meeting, although he had been sick for a few weeks prior to this, he went out on Saturday with a point to prove to himself, and he was immense against one of the best footballers I have ever seen play BSML football, heroically giving his all until again he was forced off through injury on the hour mark. To see him lifting the trophy at the end and being able to celebrate with his team mates, wife, family and most importantly of all his recently new born son Finn, is one of the most amazing things that anyone can experience. Thats all from me folks, and thanks for listening, see you all at the league dinner on the 8th June if I don't make it to Poland Wow!! great words and it means the world! Im just glad we were able to make you proud.

To watch the joy on so many peoples faces on Saturday was just unreal and makes ye feel even better to be able to play a small part in it. I remember last summer meeting with Shea and talking about signing it always felt so right and it has turned out to be even better than i imagined to win the title in our first season Hopefully with the squad we have about us and by bringing in new blood in the summer we can really push on and try to retain our title next season, obv still a massive cup to play for but anything else now is a bonus as we achieved the goal we set! P.s what ye gonna say at the dinner now ;D

Paul if that was an award ceremony the music would have cut you off before fifthly :-)
Must admit I didn't really mind who won the league on saturday but the way the match was played and the way the result was celebrated by ASOB showed IMO who wanted the league title the most. Ive got to admit though, It was great to see the ASOB diehards (the ones who have been around since I started in the BSML) bfp, Hugo, Lenny, etc win the league, very few who put so much into their club get to win the league, so well done to youse all, but especially the diehards who it means more than just a trophey too
