what a game to watch yesterday and it was a title decider that had everything. First Cocky goes of after giving Specsno change and the first thing his replacment does is get robbed of the ball by Specs who sets up the opener. Then Hudson gets injured (has anyone checked if he has let Mo out of his back pocket yet) and then Carniny start giving the ball to Mo at every opportunity as Chick is on a yellow and this then means Aaron gets no ball when he was the man that looked most likely to score for Carniny. Burnside then should have seen red but doesnt and he scores the winner, with the ball taking longer to hit the net that it does for him to get drunk. Carniny get an equiliser when Del puts the ball out of play accidently for someone is injured and then says he meant to so the ball is given back to Carniny who get a corner and theire substitute scores with his first touch meaning Carning are in the driving seat. Saints are then denied a stonewall penalty and then the man who replaced Specs as he couldnt breath and who could have be taken off with a blood injury pops up on the right wing to cross for Gavin. All this was going on a Sherman was playing mindgames with the Carniny manager with Sherman telling him he would bury him in his back garden to which someone said Shermin you live in an apartment. A truly crazy game that the Saint deserved with Tully man of the Match and a great way to win the league.

Think I need to post......UNREAL Day, first Monday in my life I have come into to work smiling. The club has had many highs, winning cups and lows when we met to keep the club going, but seeing the joy it brought to many people, fans, past legends on sat was amazing, even people not associated with the club. Fair play to Carniny, they were gracious in defeat and have set the standard in the league for years. Also have to mention Kel and Sherman. Watching the game again in the slem (DVD for a 10er) was the best laugh and there is one of Sherman's picture (£5.99 framed in colour )were he has captured the whole bar celebrating when Gav/Liam scored the winner. To the team, all the hard work that started on a Sat morning in June at the Waveney has paid off, to go on a run of games like they did was unbelievable. Management of BFP, Jnr and Shay, again all the hardwork, decisions, texts, without it Sat wouldnt have been possible.. Finally to my good mate Hudsy.......just rewards for the time/effort/ dedication and hardwork you have put into the Saints........LEGENDS EVERYONE OF YOU!!.... Now back to training, we have another big game coming up

first class post ally!!
on reflection what we have achieved this season is something very special!! to topple a Carniny side going for 6 in a row is an unbelievable feat but one i think we deserve at Saints for the effort and hard work put in all season by everyone!!
Saturday will definitely life long in my memory and i tell ye what winning it once has made me even hungrier to go on and win the double and come back next year to retain it!!

Now the dust has settled down a bit and everyone has had time to reflect on what happened on Saturday, can I first of all thank every single person that was down at the match on Saturday and making it such an amazing spectacle, in particular from an ASOB perspective I would like to thank all those that were down in support of us, we really were genuinely humbled by the large numbers there shouting us on, you were all a credit to our club and most of all a credit to yourselves. Secondly on behalf of Joe, Myself and Shea, can I thank each and every single playing member of All Saints old boys this season, you's have been an absolute joy to manage all year long, mucked in through the dirty wet nights, dug deep in training when the going got tough, continued to come to every game when injured, didn't moan (too much ) when not starting, contributed to all fundraisers and basically bought into every single inch of what the club is about. We have said it time and time again, that we are not just a football team, but we are also a family and that's something that we pride ourselves on. I got a text from one of my players yesterday and it said "Yesterday we were crowned the best team in the league. But we've been the best club for a good few years now" I never thought about that before, but in my opinion those words are so true, and I think any current or past player that has played for any other club will back those words up. Thirdly (and there will be alot more "ly" numbers to follow) to all the new players that came in this season, Gavvy Burnside, Andy Bird, Philip Lynn, Alan Telford, Pete 'The Pistol' McReynolds, Dunga, Donald Crawford, Kieran Loughran, Stephen Sexton (I hope I havent missed anyone), again a massive massive thanks, you's have without doubt been the missing link for us and are definately the reason why we bridged the gap with Carniny and Homers in such a short space of time. Fourthly, and I deliberately left him out of the above, to Mickey Maybin, what can I say about this man, for us to be able to sign a player of his quality who is the reigning league player of the year was an unreal coup for us, not only for his quality and leadership, but also because without him then the majority of the above named players wouldn't have even been at the club. When Mickey agreed to sign for us, he also started a recruitment drive and asked (more like threatened actually) most of the named players to come along with him and he promised them a league title, he certainly stuck to his side of the bargain with these boys and we are so grateful he did. Cheers again Micko. Fifthly,a big thanks to Sherman and big Hugo McNiece for the pics they have posted on facebook, they are class and almost bring a tear to the eye looking at them. Also a massive thanks to Damien Kelly for going to the bother of videoing the game for us, watching it back in the bar immediately after the game was something that I will take to the grave with me. The atmosphere in the bar watching it back was almost as tense as it was during the game, felt like I was kicking every ball all over again, we still weren't certain that we had done it until we saw the proof on the big screen Sixthly, It was superb to see so many ASOB legends down at the game, Des Lemon, Marty O'Loughlin, Gerard 'bird' O'Kane, Barney McCann, Damian 'bishop' Casey, Cormac McGreevy, Paul Curry, Kieran 'windas' McKeown, Peter Lemon, Eileen Hudson, wee Shaun McLaughlin, Timmy Connolly and the biggest legend of them all, Ally 'Hugo' McGarry the man with green and black blood running through his veins. This triumph was every bit as much for you's as it was for us. Seventhly (nearly there), a massive thanks to Carniny who made the game what it was, and after the game every single one of their players, manager Dobbie Young and staff went round our whole team, shook our hands and warmly congratulated all of us, that was a very humble experience for me to hear those words from a team with such a legendary status within Ballymena and N. Ireland junior football, thanks again lads. Eightly, can I say a massive big thanks to Shea Hamill for everything he has done for our club, he has certainly taken us to that next level and made us what we are, I and the club will be eternally grateful to him, and we would like to wish him a very speedy recovery from the freak injury that he picked up on Saturday. Also a massive massive thanks and congratulations to wee Joe 'Juinor' Montgomery, since he joined up with the saints he has been nothing short of superb. He went through a couple of periods where he doubted he was the right man for the job, (as everyone does at certain times) but I always knew he was capable of helping us achieve the highest accolade in the BSML. When Ally McGarry had to leave the management team due to family commitments, we knew that Joe was the one and only person that we wanted to bring in to replace him and so we went after him. That decision turned out to be a master stroke, what he has brought to the club is nothing short of sensational and he is now firmly a permanent fixture of the club. He gets a lot of very unfair stick and sickening abuse from some other teams because of his past involvement in the running of the league and because his father runs the league, a lot of this abuse is very personal and very hurtful to both him and his father, however he rises above this and never lets it get in the way of his focus on team affairs, we at ASOB are very very grateful and thankful to have him. Ninethly, A massive massive thanks to Neilly McGarry senior, Steven McGarry, Neilly McGarry Junior and everyone involved with Favour Pet foods. The financial and the general support you have given us from 2002 onwards has been absolutely superb towards the club, and we will always be very very grateful for this, I'm just so glad we can now finally repay you with the biggest prize of all. Last and by no means least, can I now say what an absolute honour it is to have a man of the stature of Eoin Hudson to represent me and my club as captain of the team that brought me my finest ever sporting achievement. He is without doubt the biggest and most ardent fan of All Saints Old Boys and we are so so lucky to have him. He has had a lot of ups and downs this season through injury, but he kept coming back and never once let us down, he had a mare of a first half against Mo in our first league meeting, although he had been sick for a few weeks prior to this, he went out on Saturday with a point to prove to himself, and he was immense against one of the best footballers I have ever seen play BSML football, heroically giving his all until again he was forced off through injury on the hour mark. To see him lifting the trophy at the end and being able to celebrate with his team mates, wife, family and most importantly of all his recently new born son Finn, is one of the most amazing things that anyone can experience. Thats all from me folks, and thanks for listening, see you all at the league dinner on the 8th June if I don't make it to Poland
