I personally think we are as good if not better than good few 1st divison teams and with a few quality signings I couldn't see why we both couldn't fight for 4th place. We payed ahoghill rovers in a cup game earlier this year and where the better team by far with half our team rested(beat 1-0) and also we played a full strength westend in pre season and tbh they were lucky to be only beat 2-1 as we simply had far to much on the day for them.

I know that pele but I honestly feel we would be good enough the put it up to most teams in the 1st and as I said with A FEW MORE QUALITY SIGNINGS we could challenge for 4th spot, don't think we have the team at present but don't get me wrong at thwe minute we could turn over any team in the bsml on our day including the big 3

I think both would survive ok. Outside the top 3 the 1st division is quite evenly balanced. I'd say anywhere between 4th - 8th. Having said that god knows what teams will look like next year. Last season the best 2 teams i saw were ballykeel & abbeyview. I never saw carniny but did see homers & all saints & probably all other 1st div teams. Those 2 were superb & a year later they both have very tough battles to avoid relegation.

The most interesting thing for me next season for the two teams will be how they deal with some adversity within their camps.
Confidence is at peak as they playing well and beating teams easily week in/out, next season their won't be one easy game and also both teams will be on the end of bad losses throughout the season.
A few defeats at any club soon affects training numbers and players availability for games.

No easy games in the first division. A few defeats in a row can damage confidence.
Top 4 would be ambitious for both teams.

As the teams are at the min id say just above the drop but who knows what the summer will bring, teams can improve their squad and teams can lose players. It will be interesting to see who joins north end. I'd say there may be a few saints players movin that way!!! Let the rumours begin!

if the 2 teams go up n dont sign quality players they wont stay up i dont think. only saying this as i know what its like! connor n broadway were in exact same scenario! connor went down straight away, and broadway came 6th ( but signed a whole host of players ) if they didnt they would have struggled imo just like connor did. so i cant stress it enough to both teams to make sure n sign players, and a bit of quality at that

I admire your confidence anyway! First division has been tough for us (westend) as every game is tough and it's hard to put a string of results together unlike in the second. We've done already ok this year despite not adding to the squad but we'd need to add next year to improve! By the way that was definitely not our first team you played per season!

Lads as I've said at the minute in a 1 off situation we are good enough to beat most 1st div teams if not all on our day but by no means think our squad at present is anywhere near as good as even the top 6 but I stressed that with a few quality signings we would challenge for that 4th place.

I think any team coming up should concentrate on consolidating their place in the 1st. The hardest part is grinding out results when you've players missing, or winning matches when you're not playing well. First division is a whole new ball game for promoted teams. One slip can put you out of contention for all competitions.

Will it not depend on who is competing for signings? Don't know the geography too well but who are Northend competing with for players. Why were they relegated last season, had they the same squad and where did all the new players come from this season? Will they remain or are they only good enough for Div 2 Allegedly, well according to Lenny, the 2nd Div is a big steaming pile of turd so must be some step up in class. Havent seen Thistle this year but they have struggled to get home the past two seasons failing in play offs after looking like going up automatically. Obviously they are going up this season but will they have the staying power for the big league. Though big Goram will prob get the chequebook out this summer with the lure of playing the 'big teams' an attraction. So I predict keep the same squads and one stays up with a struggle, one drops down. No guess as to which way round though

Both teams bap have strengthen'd considerably this year with northend signing donald bucky bear smiley brady slenny and sean ward and hopefully come next year we can add a few more to fulfill our aim in becoming the best side in b'mena north as we at northend feel OLE saints are a team with too many miles on the clock saying no names lenny and pele

Seems like you's have been the benefactors of broadways decline. Most of that team were ex-broadway. Broadway were decent & i'd expect you's to be at a similar level & maybe slightly better.

Yeah maccers all bar bear are ex broadway but in saying that every single 1 of those ex broadway players where poached from northend in the 1st place so u could say they have just returned home

Seems to be a fair bit of poaching goes on around that north end of ballymena. ;-) If you's keep that team then i think you's will be grand. Basically the talent in that area was split over 3 teams, now its only 2 so i think you's will be grand.

There's still a fair bit of talent spread among other teams in the bsml and I can guarentee the poaching hasn't finished, watch this space............

maccers ,the players that came from b,celts were from northend ..they had a few a diffs at n.e and went to celts..but when things got sorted they were happy to come back..also having played and managed in first div, i no that n.e and thistle will hold their own. imo.
