Think it's still mathamatically possible for us to catch them. You need to win all your games and thise include two of the top three.

st comgalls 2 cullybackey 6 Steve McQueen crashed his bike again - no Great Escape I take it thats the s**t team back? If st comgalls could get all the boys that play a game or two here & there to play a season they'd be a good side. Pity but we all know they can romp that 3rd IF they get everyone to stay on. Bad results for waveney too with both cullybackey & randalstown winning.

If's buts and maybe's You can't keep saying if they had this boy or that boy , the fact is the team they put out all year has not been good enough. The question is why do the players that could romp the third not stay on Who are these players ? Why would this be any different for any other team around the bottom of the 2nd. If players that won the third for St Comgalls have left then they are no longer a part of the team. Lots of players when you are cruising the third, not so many when you are bottom of the second. If you go down you do so because you deserve to. It will be interesting to see what sort of team they have next year in the easy third.

When was the last time carniny got beat in the league? I think its over 5 years at home. Pele I think they are unbeaten away from home for 5 seasons in the league, but they have lost a few home games in that time. Unbelievable record that won't ever be beaten.

Being from larne originally i know most of them and some of the players they have would be good enough for the 1st division but for whatever reason which i dont know myself they dont play too often. Think theres a bit of a cant be arsed attitude as i know a player who told me on 2 occasions he turned up at training & not one other player arrived. Also know that there's a big drinking culture within the team.

Yes the team cruised the 3rd winning League and Cup, had 2 seasons in the 2nd where they challenged for promotion both times and lost in play offs and 2nd Div Cup Final. Then the team crumbled at the start of this season as heads were turned by other teams in other leagues. Gradually the old team has returned in recent weeks and results have picked up again. They'll be fine next year. Will be second year in a row that titles going to Larne teams with Inver picking it up this season

Same here, Larne born as well. I played with most of these lads growing up. Thing is every team has players that could play in the first, every team has better players. The better players have to stay and give the club some grounding. Players coming and going all the time is no use. So i have no sympathy with them regarding players not turning up. If they play the players that do turn up every single week and they are a middle of the table 3rd division team for it then that's were they deserve to be. Bringing in a handful of boys for a few matches a year , they are only fooling themselves. Fergie is the perfect example, great player on his day but the 20+ feg's and 10 pints the night before couldn't do any favours. Oh and bap posted that before i saw your post. Inver The best team will win My point is, how long will these new players stay for? Are they back for good or until their heads get turned again by the first team that gives them a sideways glance. If i was in that team i would be looking round thinking, were the f**k were you when we needed you. If they team gets settled they can no doubt push for promotion to the first division.

in larne , the rec, tech obs are brillant set ups and good players go there .... great pitches, club houses etc .... it attracts good players ...

Nail on head. Also have Newington Rangers playing in 1C of Amateur League. Havent been too many transfer from St Comgall's to there though I am one of few to have played for both. The Mo Johnston of my era Think St Comgalls won the 3rd a good few seasons back (maybe unbeaten) and reached the 1st Div but the team was just ripped apart then as the town's bigger teams came in and plucked the best players. Result - straight back down to 3rd again. Ballymena doesnt have that problem as none of their teams have the plums to aim higher. Sorry, meant they all like going shopping with the wives on Sat afternoon.
