Lads saying the forum is very quiet these days hopefully this should create abit of a debate, A bit of fun aswell. When you vote say who you voted for and the reason why, as i have said its not about winning the most trophys - Just someone you enjoyed playing for or who got the best outta you or other reasons. Obv winning trophys helps but down to personal opinion Im not sure on some of the Antrim Managers so anyone that thinks they should up there name them and i'll try to fit them in.

Well for me its wee Finlay White done an amazing job at Penarol where the team was always mixed - Never was a shouter or that but commanded respect from players and always got it.
We had a good side too back then and we won two leagues and a few cups which made it even better.
Still to this day remain good friends way wee Finlay

Ye should stick Paul dunlop on there for abbeyview as wel mate.
Paul was the manager who gave me my first chance at abbeyview and stuck wi me when I was young and learning. Il always be grateful for that. He was very much a heart on the sleeve manager and was a joy to play for.
Jim I would say probably improved me more as a keeper I had my season under him when we won the second division. Jim was always the first to tell you wen you were good n never shyed away from tellin ye when you were s**te.
Have massive respect for both as managers and would find it hard to choose between them

Pele, what about Armstrong Beckett (Castletown), never had the pleasure of playing for him but im sure there are a few out there who would have a good word or 2 to say about him.

For me i would be torn between a few a brief explanation of them,
Jim Gallagher (Abbeyview) - I think he has done an excellent job in the 4 years or so he has been managing and has brought Abbeyview from a mid-table 2nd Div team to a team challenging for the top 4 and the cups in the 1st Div which has been done through hard work.
Alex Rainey (Sky Blues) - I think Alex has the respect of everyone who has played under him and with him over the many years he has been involved at the Sky Blues both playing and managing. I think he also has the respect of everyone who knows him that is in with the BSML also.
Dobbie (Carniny) - Ive only been playing for Carniny for a short period but during this you can see why the club is so successful and its mostly down to Dobbie with the work he puts in during the week at training and other club matters then on a Saturday he covers every detail with every player so you know exactly what your job is for the 90 mins.

Big Dessy Birt and his sidekick adolf Mc Auley for me it was a joy to play for them, the inspirational speeches from Dessy and the unorthodox (spelling) warm ups by Mr Mc Auley were defo the best I witnessed. And there 1st year managing in the BSML we won the 2nd Div. Am sure a load of the Broadway 1s would prob agree with me on this 1.

Big Des Birt for me...from training to team talks he always gave his all! He put everything into the club and was probably the main reason for BC coming out on top of Div 2 last season, purely because of his determination!

Bit strange a certain m.maybin is missing from the list,as i hear all it takes is the man's presence in the dressing room for boys to start foaming at the mouth, all this being hear-say from a few mates but il not disagree with them ;D ;D ;D ;D

Agree a lot with Golam on this subject Armie - Legend and a gentleman too! Dobie - nowt needed to add but a yardstick for all BSML managers n coaches! Jackson Ewert - for services to footie in our wee town ,legend! Donko - smashing lad n now reaping the rewards for all the years of hard work put in! The Whites @ Penerol - how a club should be run, gentlemen and successful.aint that what its all about! Bumner - allways have time for Stevie, great coach when not caught up in games Alex Rainey - the Gaffer!!!! Legend, gentleman and friend! There for you when you need him most but never interfered, gave all to those around him! Jim n Aggie - 2 smashing lads that give all to the wee Loyalview! Leo Hegarty - Waterside Villa,Enkalon n Rathenraw. What a man manager! But you hada check outside if it was lashing when he said the sun was splitting the trees

Went for Dobbie, as Wat cocky says about trainin and his effort he outs into everything around the club..... I've never heard of managers goin round hills and steps and salted them so we could train on them!!!!
Also for wat he has won he's as hungry as ever and carniny as a club owe alot to this man...

went for alex, sky blue man threw and threw, gives his all to the club,if you were playing for him you always knew he backed you, a real winner who hated losing...
must also say brian rainey's missing off this list, took the reds for the third to the first and kept them there, got us to semi of okane cup as well, he could really get you up for a battle, and also wasnt a bit feared of telling you if you were crap, def another winner!!
