we (glenarm) will prob try and get some games on the new 3g pitch in larne, esp over the winter when anntiville is a lake, would any team think they might have a problem with this?
you can only wear moldys or blades, no studs.
the facilities are 1st class.

Great idea. Don't see why anyone would have any objections to that. It does get a bit getting used to as it doesn'y run or bounce the same as grass, but anything is better than the bog you usually play on. We (Moylena) have played you up there in the last two seasons in possibly the worst weather conditions I have ever played in!!!

its in seacourt mate, flood lights and all, fri night game, now your talking, haha! couldnt go out with yous rtown headers but ;D
there is a few other clubs that play on 3g pitches and i have heard that you have to get it passed by the league as some teams may object with the fact that you cant wear studs and some players may not have these ( i think cookstown in the bpil have to provide some boots for teams!) as nobody else in the sat morning plays on a 3g pitch i just wanted to run it past a few of you to get the vibe.
the surface is top class, changing rooms are massive, loads of showers, dug outs, fence round pitch and high fence too. it is diff class compared to were we usually play (bit more ££ too). def wont play on a better surface.

Yeah I mentioned this a while back before we secured Inver Park. Although we will have most games at Inver, there is a possiblity, such as on the 18th where our cup game co-incides with Larne V Cliftonville, so the alternative could be Seacourt.
Good shout for Glenarm to get in there too. We are likely to use it for training in the Winter months. Although we had pre season on it!

I think there is definately an advantage for the home team who would be used to playing on it week in week out, look at spurs in the Champions league a week or so ago

They actually have a 3g pitch on the wakehurst masterplan They are putting one up at the showgrounds (Well it is on the masterplan), the pitch behind the main stand, it is raised above the flood plane, there is no part of wakehurst that aint on a flood plane so there wont be 3g at Wakehurst, a decent set of drains on the grass pitches will do the wakehurst users just fine.

Is there a difference in 3g & 4g? Been on the one at Seacourt (3g) & play on the one at Grosvenor - 4G (Immaculata's home pitch) every thursday with work ones & I don't see no difference!

The grass only needs cut 3 times a year with 3g pitches. 4 times with 4g. Apart from that very little difference.

we have now got the 3g pitch at seacourt (The Cliff) as our new home pitch, better surface, beter changing rooms, better showers, pitch fenced off and also has a boundry fence .matches should never be called off unless it snows badly!!
just waiting on league to give the go ahead and notify all teams so all going well next sat we will be on it from then on.
only blades & moldeys, no studs on this pitch
