It's not worth £24, unless you get planning permission.

Looking like its a goer! just out of a meeting there. If you believe them, the diggers will be on wakehurst 1st June 2011 Depending on all the teams agreeing to the plans. Some pain will have to be gone through first though, the pitches to be out of use for 2 seasons, though the work will be phased, starting with Carninys/wakehurst and the Homers/riverdale pitch in the first year, then woodsides and the pitch that is a complete bog beside the community centre the second year, again depending on all teams agreeing to the plans. There is talk about having works done to the pitch across the river and the bog pitch this summer so that there is still pitches to play on next season (very doubtful with the bog one if you ask me) so 2011/2012 - 3 existing pitches to play on 2012/2013 - 1 existing pitch to play on across the burn 2013/2014 - 3 pitches (2 new and 1 existing across the burn) 2014/2015 - 5 pitches (4 new and 1 existing across the burn) It all depends on the other teams but good news if you ask me

This the council doing this rab? Surely some teams will have to find a new home for a season or 2, they couldn't all play on 1 pitch, wouldn't that cause any problems still very good to hear football in ballymena means something!

all the particulars need to be sorted out, but it is good to be hopefully be at a stage where we are talking about such matters!

The money comes from council coffers yes £150,000 this financial year and £150,000 next (If you again want to believe them). I wouldnt exactly say it is off their doing as there has been some serious amount of s**te went through over 10 odd years for it to happen, it was as if they didnt want it to happen, there was no will to do anything except throw money at the showgrounds and even when it does it has to happen over 3 years instead of 2, but it works in our favour that some of the pitches can still be used while work goes on. Its good to finally be talking about it but I wont truly believe it until I see it all dug up

I just tagged along for a year, it was the work the guys at other wakehurst teams put in over 10 odd years, but like I say, lets wait until the sat morning when we are running out onto some new turf
