Michelin 1 - 4 Waveney Swifts Great result for us away from home. Some superb performances last night, in particular Willy, Marty, Beggsy, Jay and Wilson. Michelin are a very tough tema, and took the lead in the first 15 mins with a super strike from big Froggy. But we battled hard, got back into the game and went into half time at 1-1, with a goal mouth scramble finished by Willy McNabb. Second half we started to make more chances, and second goal came from Jay Stephens, set up by a lovely free kick hit by yours truly!!! Lovely wee back heel from Jay, wasnt it Mitty!? ;D Fulton then went on to save a Penalty -- bloody super save -- and we got our third goal from a breakaway from Peter Nixon. Fourth goal was a good one and showed our battling right to the end, as Neil Hanley chased down the defender, only to win the ball, pass the keeper and slot in!!! I thinkthe game was 50:50, and couldve went either way. Michelin are a very good side, and played some great football at times. Good bunch of lads too!! Looking forward to our league matches now as well.

Pelefromthewaveney i have to say you's were very fortunate from what i saw, Brian Patterson completely bottled it, your keeper should have been sent off as he was last man, it was an absolute stone wall red card and brian patterson didnt even talk to the keeper? then the keeper saves the peno and effectively won waveney the game, had brian patterson shown a bit of balls it could have been so very different. That aside it was a super performance by Waveney and a result that will do your confidence the world of good, well done.

could anyone tell me if the last man tackle rules applies in the bsml??
ive already seen half a dozen last man tackles, absolute stone wall red cards..
not even a yellow card has been produced!
i honestly get the feeling the refs attitude is 'ah f**k it, its only bsml, cant send him off for that'

lenny . we(shore) played wavney last sat and the ref had no option but to send off their center half for a last man tackle . in saying that i think it was maybe the only decision he got right all game .

fair play to Waveney, you defintley deserved the win although the scoreline did flatter ye's!
1st half we were awful, couldnt get going at all and we scored against the run of play. 2nd half we played much better, played some decent stuff but just couldnt take any of the few chances we had, including the penalty.
I have to hold my(dodgy) hands up and say I was to fault for 2 goals, couldnt believe J scored and the last goal ws just unexplainable!!!
Anyway good luck to Waveney in next round and already looking forward to our 1st league game!
Oh aye loved the shout from Waveney touchline when our sub came on and inside 30 seconds gave away a free kick and the shout came over from the Waveney boys ' ref thats the 2nd bad tackle he's hit!' quality

TBH, i thought he was going as well, but a bit of luck is what we just need at the min, as we got none on Sat! Boydy got sent off on saturday for a 'last man tackle' --> couldve been GBH ffs!! ;D Great result for us, and one which we battled hard for. Northend in the next round - should be interesting!!
