course both sets of teams were stripped and ready to play, no point blaming others if ref doesnt show ( not even booked apparently ) leaving both teams waiting until after seven oclock, no reason in forcing someone 'neutral' to ref game, by time this would have been sorted been pitch black, were only in aug, so why the rush to force through a game somebody wouldnt feel comfortable refing, at end of day theyll be the one remembered if mistakes made by losing team, question of friendly idea daft also, both same league, start of season only just under way, worth risk of injury ?

Before tonight both teams were friendly enough with each other. And the friendly was only because boys had booked of work and just for a game.

Awful situation. It's bad enough when it happens on a saturday morning but during the week with people having to drop everything and rush home from their work, or missing work altogether.
Maybe with all the games we've all had to play this last month or so a friendly wouldn't be ideal for a lot of people but it's a pity there couldn't have been some agreement reached for the game to be played...

Just heard that it says in the rules that if the ref does not turn up then both teams should sort a ref or postpone. I'd this us true and I stress if. I'm a little disappointed that athletico choose not to play the fixture. Or even a friendly. Although it is entirely there choice. GOT THIS FROM BSML RULE BOOK RULE 2 Referees will be appointed by Match Secretary. In the case of a referee failing to turn up, the procedure shall be that the 2 Club Secretaries or other responsible Club officials shall, on the toss of a coin, appoint a person to take charge of the game. That's the rules so I don't really understand why it wasn't adhered too tbh.....I'd have hoped a rep from either team wouldve phoned Monte to clarify aswell. But hey....what's the harm in a toss of a coin....if the rules state it you gotta go by it. I'm sure the team who agreed to it will have their expenses fired into the BSML.....which will affect us all.....!!

I think the forum might be gracious enough to let us off with tonite. But we also got a bill for the game which was called off on Monday night.

Tbh I agree wi atleticos stance no ref shud mean no game as s**t as it is especially when both teams are changed.
Diff if atletico had been reffing the second half and an honest mistake, offiside goal , penalty or whatever how would you be feeling today ?

Before last night there was no bad blood between our two clubs and both starting 11 were up for a friendly and a friendly it would have been. I think if athletico had of had there top scorer fit they would have played their game. So I don't blame athletico for no carrying out the league game but a friendly would have been ideal. Bit in Chrissy fosters own words "sure we are going to win the league, why would we jeopardise that with letting one of our side do the ref and get cheated like the last time they played the reds" so ill let us all move on and let athletico carry on winning the league.
