Poor game tonight, conditions never helped and i don't think either side had a shot on goal first half.
Michelin brought the Fish on second half and went 4 4 2 and it won the game, with Sexton getting a hand up there they created a lot more and seemed the more dangerous side....Sexton's finish for the first was oustanding, goram had no chance wit it.
Shortly after Sexton squares and up jumps the fish(see what i did there) who slots it home after a great move....loved the celebration too ;D
I have to say i don't think Thistle turned up for the final tonight, looked a complete different side to me than usual.
Im sure big Goram will have the boys ready for an automatic place next season!!!

well done michelin.weather ruined the game 1st half,but the best team 1.dont get fish as a sub.def made a big difference when he came on.all the best in the 1st lads.no khyber tonight ,tucking into this chippy and watching the box :-(

unlucky to thistle and esp big duck. im sure hes gutted as hes put alot of time and effort into the thistle teams push for promotion, theyl not be far away again next season. well done to michellin and esp the 2 ex broadway hitmen. 2 great goals to win the game on a terrible night. very sporting game played in a fair , hard hitting manner.  |

well done michelin . good luck in the 1st . 1st half , we controlled the game but never tested mitty .. 2nd half we never came out , and sexton took his goal v well. 2nd goal , we fell asleepand fish had a easy open net . well done . just wasnt to b our nite or year . just have 2 build on it over the summer and cum back stronger . michelin enjoy ur celebrations  |

Well done michelin, poor game for the neutral and im sure the players also with that weather but big sexton and fish both put in great 2nd half performances and won the game...some strike for the 1st goal! Unlucky to the thistle also, just wasn't your night.

Well done to thistle the nite was good game wind did ruin things a bit but we played to tactics and came away with the win, good luck to them next year. a lot of great players throughout the team an they will be up next year

Unlucky Ahoghill, just remember Shore were in the same boat last year and got automatic promotion this year (although if you are following our blueprint, get your points on the board before the last 3 games!)

Defo think Fish coming on helped the Mich the nite,kept the Ahoghill lads at the back busy as it seemed to awaken Sexton. Thistle never got into gear in the 2nd half at all,really never came out. Thought big Goram was goinna get a consolation goal at the end thou Unlucky Thistle! |

imo michelin played it v smart, played 5 in midfield agaist the wind 1st half. Then went 4-4-2 2nd half with the wind. As some people have said already, fish made the difference. Ball stuck uptop when he came on. Have to mention mitty's effort when the ref blew for full time, with goram up for a corner, mitty tried his luck & it went in only for ref to blow for full time ffs ;D ;D ;D

When you look at the bigger picture and a couple of lads would be hard to keep for next season with bigger clubs sniffing it was maybe a blessing in disguise we havent went up.So many clubs that get up by the skin of there teeth to the 1st really struggle.End up getting battered week in week out and it causes tension and fall outs within the club.Theres a few examples in the 1st this year.Maybe it was to early to go up for the Thistle and we need another year together.Rem this is a totally transformed team with just a few from the season before plus alot of players came on board half way threw the season.It would have been a great achievement if we had of went up but If we can keep this team together and add a couple we will be back alot stronger and make it easier to go up next year.2nd was so tight this season.Think if Westend loss Watson and go up they could be in for a tough year in the 1st and them the champions to..thats when the disapointment of last night will go away and we will be thankfull we arent up struggling to.Rome wasnt built in a day but 1 things for sure we will grow and be a better team next season :-) Gonna be tough with Connor rebuilding,Carnlough Penerol Randlestown Cloughmills and all the other div 2 teams like Waveney St Comgalls Dunloy etc.Dont know if Northends folding or what.Alot of rumours but it will be harder but excited already at the challenge and maybe playing against the clown ;-)

I think the game was played in the right fashion...hard but fair!! As suarez says there, this is a totally re-shaped squad and could still be gelling as a team. I have no doubts you lads will push the second division all the way next season and good luck with that!!! |

I am disappointed Ahoghill never made it into the 1st because I fancied them to do so, but last night they lacked any real cutting edge. From the games I have seen I think the same could be said for the semi final we played together where their goal came from an OG. In the league game at ahoghill the goals were 2 wonder strikes and a goal from a long throw and they failed to score in our home fixture having had a man sent off. I think if Ahoghill invested in a poacher/proven goalscorer/dangerman then they could make the 1st next year, where they will find one who wants to play 2nd div football is the big challange for duck.
