no one cares quigs, the point i think the boys were making, that the clubs i.e linfield pay the players big bucks so they have been told to commit 100% to the club or pack yer bags..ye cant do both. simples. That's a given Huds but I thought it irrelevant to throw into the debate and score "silly points" tbh! |

Ballymena won 3 nil today, did the big Scottish midfielder play and did he look good? I'll set myself up for a big fall here but I would suggest that Ballymena now have the best player in the league Pele. May be a rash statement after one friendly performance against Ards but he's got everything. judge him when u c him more  bones garrett simply the best  |

Patterson will score a bagful for the Blues as well, most disappointing thing out of the whole transfer is that he is back in the Irish League, in my opinion he is too good for the Irish League. Though it will be interesting to see how he handles the strict regime up at Windsor.

Lennard not often I say this but uv hit the nail on the head. Quiggs as usual uv put 2 + 2 together n came up wi 24.
Nothing confirmed lg very little coming out of Windsor n only slight murmurs from Jamie on twitter. Getting to the stage were he will have to make a decision, linfield won't wait forever.

That is a seriously good deal for Linfield if the wage figures you quote are true, especially when you hear of some of the supposed contracts that other players are getting who wouldn't be in the same class as Patterson.
Wonder why the glens couldn't offer the same deal to Patterson, especially if they are owed money by Plymouth, wonder if the Glens have the money tied up in signing Leon K
I was over in Orlando last week and randomly saw Mulgrew walking down International Drive, wondering what he was doing there as there is no MLS team in Orlando/Florida. Would like to see him get given a go over there but I have a feeling he will be back at Windsor!

Jeff just wondering were do you get the bulls**t figures about pattersons wages do you just pluck them out of thin air? I heard from my source that linfield are paying at least double your quoted figure.
And I would suggest the money you receive from the L.I.F.A is in the same boat as the etihad stadium money and and city transfer money. Obviously the figures arent as big but the same idea.
Nice to know that linfield was pattersons 2nd choice and now it's not all about just playing for linfield. Money talks jeff money talks.

Firstly those wages were told to me by a source who I hav no reason to doubt. He may or may not be right but hes usually not to wide of the mark.
Secondly Ethiad and Linfield in the same sentence is ludicrous in itself but even moreso in this deluded comparison ;D
Finally the glens have openly stated they couldn't afford rory because well they are stil donating 900 a week so they couldn't go for him so how were we 2nd choice ?
It's only pre season n wee Davy is an angry man already. Living in the shadow must be gettin Ye down ;D

etihad donate 400m towards cities transfer fund and the L.I.F.A donate 200k a year towards linfields. in comparison regardless of the numbers its the same in principle.
the glens were offered patterson but couldnt afford his wages and he went to linfield, which makes them 2nd choice. a bit like you being ballymacash 2nd choice keeper jeff.

i think everyone agrees that the sponsorship deal is just to cover cities back with the large transfer fees they pay, and i think most right minded people will see through the dodgy contracts between linfield fc and L.I.F.A as another source of income so linfield can attract players with larger salaries. and although glentoran pay certain players large salaries it is not all of our players, whereas linfield are able to pay there large squad a nice pay packet.
