Does anyone remember the pub in the tower centre. It was where that chinese therapy place was. Anyone remember the name of it? I can't remember if it was Pickwicks or it was through Pickwicks??

Well if the centre opened in the early/mid 80s and I think it disappeared in the mid 90s. Over 10 years I'd say.

I work in Dunnes and I was asking 1 of the girls there if they remember it and heres a wee bit of triva for yea's. John McKeown who has the conezone either owned or managed the pub. The pub was open at least 20 years ago but dont know when it shut. Also it was where Bargain books is now that unit

Montgomerys was indeed run by John McKeown. I drunk in it many times. The bar was there for a long time on High St. before the Tower Centre was ever opened, and it was incorporated into the Tower Centre because it was a protected building at that time. I worked in Dunnes for 3 years between 1987 and 1990, and regularly went in to Montys for a pint or two after work. We also had many works do's in it as well. It had the main bar area and then you went down a few steps into an seated area which you could sit and look out the window to see the people walking by in the mall of the Tower Centre.

Wonder if Crazy Prices could go where Woolies is (or soon won't be). Their boxes section was great to play in as a kid.

Bring Back Crazy Prices ;D Alot of BSML players worked in there I agree there Casca, and the same where I worked, Wellworths Stores (Not the shop, the distribution centre on the Ballymena Road in Antrim). You could have made up a team from the BSML that worked there that would have held their own against the best in the league, honestly, I could name a full squad, and some.... When the warehouse played other stores etc, used to win by bag-fulls and ended up nobody wanted to play them any more. Great times and great craic working down there, never a dull moment! Bring back Wellies!! (Not the boots) ;-)
