not a follower of irish league either, probabley as i was involved with morning football for so long an spent the afternoons drinking away, but i find it very hard to belive the position that ballymena are in, they've one of the best stadiums in NI (one of only 3 I think up to Euro standards) they have some cracking players in blaney, kelbie, watson etc, they've a manager who's won umpteen medals/cups etc, sponsors, who've stuck by them for many many years....yet, they fail at times in f**kin some style to play decent football, win anything and attract a awful crowd for one of the largest towns in the country. why is this? surley its the structure of the club that's to blame, they play s**te preseason friendlies against crap teams (compared to IL standard) like chimney corner & raceview that surely dont prepare the 1st teamers for the season ahead & the PR work for games is unbelivably bad....they should be handing out free tickets to all school children to attract them to the games, if they go, they'll want to go again...+ it means the parents accompanying them have to pay!! I just dont understand it, but then again, i'm sitting back & not going either :/

Coleraine hand out free tickets to local schools from time to time to encourage them to want to support their local club. I think its a great idea, and it clearly works. However, i think that some of the premiership matches that are on Sky & Setanta on Saturday lunch times keep people away from watching the local teams. I also think that we should play more games on a Sunday, and now that this has happened it should hopefully happen more often. P.S. I think the Ballymena situation at the minute is great

SLight contradiction there ritchie.. lunchtime games keep fans away but we should play more on sky's super sunday?? Sunday football is not the answer. If anything amatur league football should be moved to a sunday like in England but i wouldnt be a fan of that either

IMO they made a mistake bringing in Walker and in keeping Kelbie (and others less high profile) when they wanted away have left the squad with bad moral. That explains this season but i have no idea how Ballymena have underachieved for so long with the backing and resources that they have!

If Sky stuck to either a super sunday or just on a saturday then i dont think we would have the problem we do, because currently most people would rather spend £10 at the bar and watch the premiership than go and pay £9 to watch irish league, and with the standard it is, i dont blame them...

I think Ballymena f**ked up with bringing in that tit as a manager. he should have stuck to the commentating. Id bet Kelbie is kicking himself now.
This year will be the closest run title race in years as i can see more than 2 teams going for it at the final day of the season. Cliftonville have got of to a bad start, problems in the dressing room havnt helped. but a draw and win will get our confidence going, just a few injurys to get over. Linfield will be as strong as ever but i believe lack the fire power now Thompson is gone. The new lads, and the younger Billy Joe will help to especially going full time. The Glurns did well aquiring Waterworth. These 3 will be there at the end. But its Newry, Lisburn Dis and Coleraine who will dictate were the league goes. They will take points of teams.

As much as I would have loved to have signed Kelbie i dont think he is worth that money so perhaps we got a let off

Correct Pele, rejected at least 3 offers with the final offer rumoured to be 40k. As much as I would have loved to have signed Kelbie i dont think he is worth that money so perhaps we got a let off how much did ballymena want for him? They were adamant that they wouldnt sell regardless of what we offered. Kelbie is now a player stuck at a club were he doesnt want to be at hence his s**te form. Good player he is but not worth the money being quoted for him. As far as I know he's still based in Scotland so that wouldnt be an ideal arrangement either
