A hard fought 3 points for Shore on Saturday in a game the ref described as "A pleasure"
Shore started the game missing top-scorer Philly Sheridan and captain Anto Quigg, giving some other players the chance to stake a claim. An end to end game saw 7 Towers taking the lead when Shore failed to deal with a corner. Shore eventaully equalised when Willy Brown was unmarked and headed in a corner. All our hard-work was undone when 7 towers scored from the edge of the area following a cleared corner. The 1st half finished 2-1 to Towers.
Shore worked hard at the start of the second and eventually got an equaliser when Chris McIntyre hit a stunning shot from 25-30 yards which gave the keeper no chance. Both teams kept on playing football and we eventually got our 3rd when Willy Brown was again unmarked at a corner and headed in. Towers equalised about 2 minutes later when Shore failed to deal with a long ball and the Towers forward ran threw and squared to his unmarked team-mate who scored. The match continued to be end-to-end with Shore eventually breaking through and Tony Turley and Marty Campbell both claiming the final touch after a goal-line scramble.
I have a feeling this might be our last home match this year, our pitch took a hell of a battering.
