With the season in the throws of finishing we find ourselves in the play off postion (at the time of posting). Which gives us something to aim for. To be fair the top 6 sides are worth the chance to go up, although Connors goals scored must be applauded. From our own point of view we could say we f**ked things up for ourselves with 2 draws against Penerol, throwing away chances against Broadway up there in that rain soaked night and hook gifting Michelin a draw up there. Certainly the 7 points that could have been gained from those gams would certainly have effected the top 6 postioning. But f**k it. Thats football.

We are away to Blackstone on Wed 21st, and after doing the decent thing by rescheduling for our George Mc Auley Cup Q/Fs with them due to them being unable to field a team, I hope the same situation doesnt occur as the attitudes maybe different.
The next few weeks for all the teams should be quite interesting.
Although one thing I have noticed at the start and end of each season over the last few years is that some teams certainly become better. Either its got to do with the evening KOs were higher players are free to play during the week than on a Saturday or maybe the sun just makes everyone happier ;D

Won 5 - 3 away to Blackstone. Even got 20 mins myself. Home games against Shore and Riverdale left in the league. 6 points need if we are to stand a chance of a playoff spot.

Good result Sir. Was that the league match or the Cup QF? Who got the goals? Back from the US on Sat may 1st - try and keep us in a cup or the playoffs so I can maybe get a game in before the season ends. Though I'm about the size of Rocket now after 2.5 weeks of hotel food and beer. I'll worry when I get to Dale size though.

We won the cup game 3 or 4 v 1. We play 7 Towers tonight in Semis.
Beat Riverdale 5 - 2 in our penultimate league game.
Final league game against Shore to be played. If we win that hopefully we get a play-off spot. But I think a lot will depend on other teams results.

Super result last night. Seven Towers 1 v 2 St. Comgalls With our gaffer rotating our keeper (again), and throwing big Dale, yes big Dale into goals and us missing Masty and huffy Darran it looked tougher than we expected.....although we had a strong bench. ;D Towers went 1 up when there keeper did a big hoof up the field, and we tried to play a high offside line, which was a mistake cause the wind brought the ball over our back four and the towers player lobbed big Dale. Both sides had chances to score more but we went in at half time 1 nil down. The sad thing about halftime was losing big Fergie to a knee injury, so Bap came on fresh from his USA trip to meet porno stars ;D obviously made the difference. Goals from both Gary Mc Corry and Colm Campbell but us nicely through. ;D Worst part of the night was arriving in Ahoghill, and seeing the condition of the pitch. Awful. Grass was far to long and the pitch wasnt lined out. Even the teams had to put up the nets. What the f**ks all that about? I know were only Saturday Morning League, but surely to f**k someone could have arranged a better place to play than that crap. I know the pitch is the same for both teams, but very poor choice of venue for a Cup Semi. Even the ref was querying the venue by the location considering he was from Newtownabbey and you have teams from Ballymena and Larne. Ahoghill is hardly "an inbetween location" Best moment of the night (apart from the winner going in ) was when our gaffer lost it in the changing rooms before the game when he give his rallying speach and was all serious getting us would up then called out the team selection and said "Dale in goals" and everyone burst out laughing. ;D

Well done Saints And i think Carnlough would be an ideal 'in-between' location for the final!

The Ref suggested that last night. Would have suited him better to Dingle.

A win at home to a Shore confirms play-off status, a draw or less means we rely on results elsewwere - Ie Clough, who apparantly are struggling tonight against a table topping Connor.
Ps
A few of the lads in training stated the Daily Mirrors league table possessions/points for a few teams were wrong, in particular Michelin. Is this true?

Last night we entertained Shore wobblers in a match that was a must win for us to guarantee a play off position. The gaffer made his team selection and surprised everybody by dropping one of our best and most consistent players to the bench, no not me, Masty. (Well that’s what happens when you don’t turn up to training and your phone “breaks” for 3 days when management try and contact you). ;D We were the better team from the off. 1 up with big Fergie Crouch going up with the keeper and beating him in the air on a one on one and tapping in. The next 2 goals came from Gary Mc Corry, and if I hadn’t of scored myself I would have said he had goal of the game. A long kick out from our keeper flicked on by Fergie Crouch and while running on to the ball controlled it on his chest and volleyed it in from about 25 yards. Truth be told it was a belter. (good night for him to £10 double first scorers Chopra and Forlan) Second half came and we missed a few more sitters. Shore pulled one back. Then we made our 1st, & 2nd substitutions when big Dale pulled his tights and went into goals to see if the rest would help him for Shore weren’t going near our goal mouth. The defence was reshuffled and James went to right back. Dale started to get cold and had to be brought off, James went back to goals and we brought on our 3rd sub (1st really!) ;D. Refer to Donko. aceyboy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=shore&action=display&thread=5616&page=1 ;D Not long later none other than Bap put us 4 – 1 up with another goal for the old timer. The gaffer made his 4th sub (2nd really!) and brought young Phil on. With the game going stale, the gaffer told the lawnmowerman to get warmed up. The game needed an injection of pace, flare, skill and quality and boy did I provide it. I came on for Fergie who is crap. ;D ;D Just minutes into the game a through ball was played from the halfway line. I beat the left back and centre back for pace took two touches and welted the ball into the goal from the angle of the box with the keeper left to watch and applaud. To be honest I wanted to run and celebrate was totally f**king knackered. The rest of the game I was smiling like I was Cheryl Coles G string. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Would have to say I thought Mark Stevens was MOTM …………and thon English fella who was ref was prob the best we have had all season. That’s us now with Connor in the George Cup final next week and the play off games left. Anyone know if they are one or two legged affairs? And the dates?

Mower, what happened Clarkey? Heard he bust his leg, needed an op etc. haven't been talkin to him in yonks. Was it playin footy? Aye playing Blackstone, went one on one with there keeper who dived 2 footed at the ball rather than with his hands. Clarkey went down. He's tough as f**k and when he didnt get up we knew something was up. had an op last week. On crutches for 3 months, no training for 6. Not good. Will miss him as a player. Didnt even get a free kick. It was an awful tackle and had Clarkey not been so badly hurt I think he would have smashed the f**k out of the keeper. Saturday morning football, but people still having to earn a living.
