Deserved the win tonight but by f**k you do make things hard for yourselves Couldve been 5 up at half time easily but missed chance after chance in 1 on 1 situations, and to be fair Hook got every 1 of them right. Shores offside trap was shocking. Heads couldve dropped conceding 2 in the last couple minutes so fair play to you. MOM was wee Phil in nets, pulled of a few cracking saves and got a sore nose too ;D On that point, Phil you owe me at least a pint for all the s**te I had to go through at training years ago  |

I honestly thought when it went to extra time after loosing the two goals late on that shore would win it. I thought we had thrown it away but i agree with Mitty, Simpson was sup[erb in nets tonight and did well with the penaltys.
Few good pens and cant imagine the pressure kyle felt to win it, i had to take the 6th to keep us in it and my legs were like jelly.
We done it in the end and its a great feeling going up!

Gutting for Shore, getting back into it and then losing on pens.. But well done Clough all the same! Seen a good few games this year, recent form deserved tonight if nothing else

Well done lads,what a tournaround since Christmas...my dad asked me if youse had got any new players or management but I don't think youse have?? Juat shows you what confidence can bring.
Not many teams will fancy going away to Clough next season, should be an interesting First Division with yourselves, us and BC.

Over the course of the whole game i thought we deserved it. Fair play to Shores fighting spirit for getting them back into it. I hope they do well next season as they are a good side. The tough work only begins now for us as the 1st will be as tough as hell come August.

The first hour of the match Clough looked very comfortable and Shore never got started. Cant believe they were only 2-1 up at half time but our keeper was outstanding. We only started to pass the ball in the last half hour and at least we gave it a rattle. Just think some of our boys froze and couldn't get into the game. I don't think that it was the same starting 11 for Clough last night that struggled for first half of season.
No doubt overall Clough were better side and good luck next year in the first.

A load of auld pony my friend. I played against you a few times this year and you're one of the best in middle I played against. Don't allow the heartbreak of losing the playoff final (I know how you feel as the same happened us years ago) to but you in that notion!!!! Plenty of years left and your experience will get that extra bit quality back in your game!!!! |
