Would hardly call Jason Jordan a cheat he is one of most genuine managers out there we did not know the rules so unfortunately played ineligible players unknowingly as has no doubt been done before. To go as far as sayin carniny would have won the final handy enough too is a bit ott as in a cup competition anythin can happen!! I'm not bitter in what happened partly because I was out injured but just seems as tho everyone is joinin band wagon of hate the homers lol. I'm not calling Jason a cheat. Fact of the matter is, Carniny realised they played an ineligible player and so pulled out of the shield, homers realised they had played several ineligible players and were happy to go ahead playing the final without saying anything, even after Carniny had withdrawn!! If anyone thinks there was nothing wrong with what Homers done, then there is something badly wrong and you have little integrity for the game. The thing that I really find hard to swallow (and might I add is no fault of either homers or Carniny) was that the league chairmans speech at the league dinner glorified both teams on getting to the final and then blamed Co Antrim FA for the whole debacle. Not once did he acknowledge the achievement of us winning our first ever league title and ending the run of probably the best team ever to grace the BSML!! So you wanna talk about a team with a right to feel aggrieved, then talk about that!!! |

Think Campbell wrote earlier in this thread that the rule about players being ineligible has been removed, can anyone confirm this and is it from next year on or is it already been removed for this years shield??
Its a ridiculous rule anyway so the quicker the better!!

It is a silly rule, but I also see why it was there. I have checked the rules on the Co Antrim website, and it would appear to still be in use. It is three years though. Not sure if maybe last year it was five.

Yea I think it used to be five years, maybe if the rule was a year you could see the value in it, but 5 was just silly lol, 3 years is still too long in my opinion. |

I'm not bitter in what happened partly because I was out injured but just seems as tho everyone is joinin band wagon of hate the homers lol. with respect toy uor opinion , i have to disagree about your stating that the recent carniny team are the best team ever to grace the bsml . i can honestly say they have been a crack unit and a first class side and very much in the top 5 ever , but i can honestly put my hand on my heart and say iv seen and played in carniny teams that would have outplayed this side , however the fitness factor would always prevail , but dont ever disrespect the carniny teams from the lkes 88 / 89 - 93/94 they were the cream of the crop when it wasnt a 2 horse race that has now developed into a 3 horse race , in my younger day there was anything from 7 teams that could have won the league , and indeed any of the seven would have given any of the nowaday 3 a great run for there money , and 2 for the sho , 3 to get ready now go cat go keep rockin , step on my blue suede shoes lol de la forza ze shermourinhio I'm not calling Jason a cheat.
