I heard it was by pure chance that Maghera caught on - they went back to the bar afterward with Windmill and somebody was talking and let slip that one of their players had played in the latter stages of the Senior competition a few years ago - how much of a kicking do you reckon he got?

No disrespect to the other teams left, but i think it's a case of Immaculata just turning up to lift their trophy...especially now carniny and windmill stars are out! Maghera Strollers and Ford left...don't think they're strong enough to win it.

they have an appeal in on being chucked out of the junior cup. as the Junior Shield is the county antrim Board its different, they are meeting on the 12/04/2010 to make a decision. i see another team in the junior cup got chucked out too. they played a player who played in a cup final for banbridge town 3 years ago?? WTF! for the 2 best junior competitions us lot can win, its abit of a farce. Don't think that's quite right Lenny. Yes they are different boards i.e. IFA and Co Antrim but i've been told that the shield board i.e Co Antrim will take their lead from the IFA and give the same decision.

So why did they get threw out in the first place? Because that committee made the wrong decision in interpreting the rules. The 3 man appeal board which was chaired by a solicitor, unanimously agreed that Carniny had no case to answer and that Leslie McCaughern is eligble to play in the semi-final as well.

Carniny have been re-instated into the Junior Cup. Happy days that is fantastic news , good luck in it , what about the Sheild ? Technically speaking Carniny were never threw out of the Junior Shield as far as I am aware, as the Co. Antrim FA seemed to be waiting on the outcome of the appeal to the IFA over the Junior Cup fiasco.

any confirmed dates for both semi's yet raj? None yet. There is another on- going saga involving Bessbrook from an earlier round (I think court cases have been mentioned) in the other half of the semi-final draw.
