i think Carniny thought about stepping up, but decided they wouldnt have the money that would require to do this. i tink the problem is they cant put a fence around there current pitch. costs alot 2 run a team in the IML. get davy mcculloughs ice cream shop 2 b the driving force. lenny, do u nt agree they should move up?[/quote] totally agree mate.. what else to they have to prove at this level?? im sure the players would like to step up if the club could. it would cost a fortune im sure!! recently found out, it cosy us (All Saints OB) 5k to run the club last year!!

I did a bit of number crunching at the start of the season and I reckoned it cost us 1k a year in the 3rd.
Sorted out a few things and now my missus washes our kit which saves us £400 a year alone.
With prices going up for pitches and ref's a lot of teams will find it hard going

I agree! We should get behind any BSML team doing well in the Junior Shield/Cup as it shows that our league is as good as any (although Carniny are alot better than most lol) carniny are a good side, but it must b boring winning the bsml most years, why dnt they do wat raceview dne. move up 2 that league . lifes is full of challenges , give the current carniny side a harder challenge. Ardoyne WMC will win junior shield, (hope carniny do well) immaculata will win the junior cup for the 3rd year in a row Crumlin Star still in both competitions also, and it was them that beat Immaculata in the Cochrane and Corry cup final last season so there's a few other teams that will have their say also...would like to see Carniny win the Junior Cup as it hasn't been done by a morning league team before. It's a big ask however, but Carniny are more than capable of mixing it with the 'big' teams. Id say Immaculata are clear favourites however, as you would expect.

I think Homers will push Carniny alot harder than people think this season!

Junior Cup seems to be the tough one to win for all junior clubs. Your right though, Immaculata are a classy outfit, they won the clarence cup last year also with the junior shield so its hard to look past them winning the junior cup a 3rd year on the trot...you never though, it would be nice to see them beat just the once!

We train there too and no doubt it is a rip off you would think the bbc would do some discount for bsml clubs using there facilities.

Immaculata are a great outfit and beat Carniny 4-2 last time they played. Carniny were without some key players though and missed quite a few chances. If Carniny's run can continue and they eventually meet It should be a great game.
As for the bsml, it's by no means a one horse race. Homers, Saints and Abbeyview will certainly be in the mix at the tail end of the league. Carniny have quite a backlog.

Carniny play away to Stranmillis in the last 16 of the Junior Cup and are in the Q/F of the Junior Shield.
With Immaculata, St. Marys, Tullygally, Ardoyne WMC, Lisbellaw Utd, Greencastle Rovers and Crumlin Star still in the Junior Cup, it will be very difficult to win it.
Immaculata play St. Marys in the Q/F, so that is one good team gone and Tullygally play Lisbellaw.
If they are going to win any one of the two, the Junior Shield represents the best chance as the likes of Immaculata aren't in it, but there will be some real tough hurdles to overcome in it as well. However, Ballyvea got to the final last year after beating the Homers 3-1 and Carniny beat Ballyvea 6-0 this season in it, so on their day, Carniny are capable of getting to one final if they play at the top of their form in the latter stages.

Well done Carniny.
Into the semi-finals of the Junior Shield with a 4-2 win at Tollymore Swifts.
Goals from Chris Dowie, Leslie McCaughern and Mo McDowell with an og from their keeper Fabianski, or at least I think that is what he was called.

i think the kick off time was printed wrong in the papers this week for the carniny crumlin star game as i am almost certain it kicks off at 2 and not 1.30!!
definitely should be a great game both sides unbeaten in their leagues and both in the semi of the shield as well!!
