We'll definitely be looking for the 3 points this week after the disppointment of last Saturday and hopefully we've enough about us to win what will definitely be a tough game against a team who ran the league favourites very close on Saturday past

Only an idiot would claim their team to be favourites at such an early stage!!!

Most of the Forum misses this man's point!! lol.... ;D And Harty is correct, I was only stating no one at Broadway seen themselves as favourites, it's not as if we haven't been beat after all!!!

When we played Broadway I stated that I thought they would be one of the league favourites. But I wasnt at the game and the lads at training a still abit miffed about getting beat that night. Not convinved anymore that Broadway could be the top team. Unless new faces arrive. In saying that look at Connor too. If you read on here you would have thought they were going to win the Champions league this year. Especially at home. But a wee s**tty team from Larne beat them 2 - 1 last week, whcih doesnt make them invincible. The Connor lads have to remember we are not playing them on that s**t hole of a field they called a pitch and are playing them on a decent pitch, which will be an advantage to most leams rather than themselves. So maybe they wont be so great at home. I have learned lately that everything you read on here about teams going to do this and that is a lot of balls. As fishy whips says. Wait till next March before we talk about league winners. One thing is for certain IMHO is the tyre men will be there or there abouts.

i think the point they were tryin to make is that as a team pretty much dropping down from the intermediate league, they know how to knock it around.
knowing there pitch is still an intermediate standard pitch they felt that this pitch would be an advantage to them over the likes of say.. wakehurst come november where youll have greater diffculty with a quick passing game and connor would have to change there style a bit.
also.. it was not unreasonable for them to suggest that, as finishers in the top half of the intermediate league, they should be able to compete at BSML div1 level with the same squad.
definatly not defending this ''we will walk the league'' approach.
but as an ex intermediate 11, connor surely had to be one of the favourites for this league before a ball was kicked.
in his defence darrenkells didnt know what standard/style to expect and i say it would be a common opinion, from ones i speak to, that the higher intermediate teams are under the impression the bsml is ''easy'' ''a gift'' or ''lower standard''
youll notice norton and mervyn havnt been as ''confident/cocky'' as theyve played in the bsml before so knew a bit of what to expect.

I for 1 wouldn't judge a league before I played in it and definately wouldn't degrade other teams competing in it. As RVP said about Adebayor "he showed a lack of class" From speaking to members of various team in the league, DarrenKells has given them all the motivation they need when playing Connor.

So what your saying is Connor are now fielding an intermediate 11 in the BSML 2nd div every week? f**k we didnt do to bad then beating them did we? Im sure the lads that were playing regulary for Connor last year must be pissed off losing there place to the "intermediate level" players. Personally still think the pitch will be an advantage to opposing teams rather than themselves (Connor).

Not 11 Mower, our keeper, myself and our left back from last season have started all the games so far this season. Plus merv, mcvicker and campbell played in games for Connor Rangers last year and young Coyle would probably be playing if he wasn't out injured. Basically though we've 3 from last seasons morning team starting every game and 2 or 3 in the squad every week. Your right in saying that some were pissed off at losing there place and a few have moved on. With the manager of the afternoon team taking over in the morning of course he's going to be more inclined to pick players he knows ie the afternoon team players, before he would select players he didn't know from the morning team. I've been lucky enough to have been playing every week, and maybe if a few of the afternoon team who left had stayed, i wouldn't be playing and i'd be pissed off too, but thats the good thing about this league, there's plenty of other teams where they can go and play regularly, as most of those who left us are doing. You haven't seen us play at all this season Mower so you can hardly form an opinion about who will benefit more. We've played 5 games at home so far, and won 4 of them so that suggests we're benefiting from playing at home. Plus we went and played you's on a good pitch in Larne last season and beat you's fair and square. We've a lot of good players who like to knock the ball about and play football, i think what we lack at the minute is a bit of battle and bite in the tackle. St Comgalls got stuck into us on Saturday with a lot of good, hard tackles (i've bruises on my legs to prove it ;D) and put us under pressure, which we didn't do enough of but i think that'll come eventually. Personally i'm nowhere near fit enough either, and i'm sure a few of the other boys will tell you the same thing. I've no idea who will win the league this season, i think it'll be really close, with not much separating the team who finishes in the last play-off spot and the team who wins it! Good luck to everyone involved

We'll maybe get this game played this saturday after it being called off 3 times already this season. Picked up a couple of knocks last saturday but nothing serious so should be full strength this saturday again. Another 3 points needed for us with Broadway and Michelin facing each other this week. Mon the wee Connor
