Hope it is or else we'll be going into the New Year playing 6 games in the league! Probably the worse in all 3 divisions. Also noticed that on nifootball.com they've got it that only two teams go up from the 3rd Divison and only 2 teams coming down from the 2nd Division. Probably due to there being only 13 teams in each this year. Can anyone confirm?

No Text talk Campbell.. Westend will be tricky opponents, have watched them a few times last season and seemed a decent side, haven't saw them this season though but if Connor can play the way they can i'll go for a home win..

Ok so far - some silly draws after being well in front then lost on saturday after our best performance and pretty much dominating St Comgalls.
This division is well up for grabs for so many teams if they can put a run together. Haven't seen Connor at all for years so don't really know what to expect........apart from a Fernado Torres clone up-front?? ;D

I was the only Torres Connor Rangers ever had..lol
They've a good squad this season, a squad who could get them out of this Division but as you say its well up for grabs this season.
Hopefully its on so i get up a run and cheer the wee Blue Army on...;D

Theres no way any football will be played on that pitch before the summer ffs it has to be the worst I have ever seen and I played on some s**te pitches lol. Cant believe that you have to change a mile away from the ground then fecking walk up to it.

i cant see it being on but to be honest!

I will eat my hat if its on to be honest lol. But I know a couple of westend players and they're good lads as well as good players, the result against St Comgalls shows they'll be no pushovers. And the league is so open this year, it'll be very tight. We were embarrassed last time out in the league and we will be out to put that right in the next game (whenever it may be) ;D
And everyone knows how awful our pitch is, but there's nothing we can do about it, so we just have to get on with it. There's been times its been playable this season and the council has called it off.

No def no bitterness on my part Norton and thats the truth. I just feel that you'se are a good footballing team and you deserve better than that pitch.

I'd love to play out in Galgorm every week, good pitch. That pitch in Neilsbrook is quite good too. I can't see us having a match till after the new year. Noticed we're 4th bottom in the table, doesn't make good reading! Hell of a games in hand.

Stewartie the leagues wide open mate and I think St Comgals are the team to beat if you get a point down there its a super result tho the home game should be a different game..
Galgorm is a class pitch but no good when the council call the games off from wakehurst lol there has been a few games where we have been called off and our pitch was in tip top order.
As to you having a few games in hand we are the same but I know id rather have points on the board rather than games in hand.

Post by norty on Dec 5, 2008 12:23:13 GMT
Totally agrre with you Adriany about rather having the points on the board than relying on games in hand as they include games against St Comgalls, Woodside and Westend, all who are up at the top of the league. Like everyone is saying it is wide open and its anyones guess as to who will go up. St Comgalls definitely appear to be the team to beat at the minute! We know are pitch is sh1t but we must get on with it lol.
Who do you's play tomorrow Adriany?!

We were due to play wakehurst tomorrow mate but its been called off

I reckon our pitch (Galgorm) would have been playable TBH. I'm pretty sure the council just look at Wakehurst and then make a judgement on all its pitches based on its condition which is a bit unfortunate.
Hey Norton, how come you can't get to share the pitch in Connor with the afternoon team? There are plenty of pitches around the country that are shared. We shared Portglenone with their afternoon side last season without any problems so I don't see how you couldn't do this.
That pitch up the road is an absolute nightmare. I honestly don't think I'd bother playing football if that was the picth I had to play half my games on. My hamstrings were like 2 boards for about 4 days after that ha ha but fair play to you guys for perservering with it. Thats what I call dedication!

Aye and Portglenones pitch was awful when we had to play them over there. Few of our boys picked up injuries cause it was in that bad a nick..;(

Post by norty on Dec 5, 2008 17:07:43 GMT
Well i don't know the whole story behind it, and i'm sure if i'm wrong Merv will correct me, but i think the afternoon team don't want us sharing with them, i don't no the reason or anything like that. And as they pay our referees and stuff i think thats sort of a deal. I may be totally wrong like i say!
It is a nightmare playing on that pitch but like you say its great dedication that everyone keeps turning up. I think we've a great team spirit which also helps alot, everyone enjoys turning up on a sat morning!

Post by norty on Dec 5, 2008 20:02:19 GMT
Yeah mate unfortunately the match is off. Unfortunate for a number of reasons as it means a number of our higher league players who are on 4/5 games wont get their games in and also cos i was looking forward to the game!
Also wanna say happy 40th birthday to our manager geoff mcilveen! Headin out for a bite to eat and a few drinkls tomoro afternoon!
