Who was the team?

To be honest, I thought the scoreline did not reflect the game. We battled hard. Glenarm are not a bad side and they scored 3 crackers.
Team was
Mark Morrison Mark McAlister Johnny Doak Kyle Henry Chris Irvine Johnny Armstrong Davey Munn Kumar Treon Barry Hamill David Cameron William Coulter
4 debutants and players playing out of position. It cant get any worse. It will get better

Hurt is an understatement. Never ever been so embarrassed involving a football match.
To be honest, I havent really said too much about our poor start and all the rumours at the start of the season about us possibly folding were true. So rather than walking away and letting the club fold, I had to sign anyone I could to field a team and thats basically what ive done but I want to point out that certain players from last season who told me that they were resigning done the judas on this club and signed for other teams. Those players know who im talking about. That left 5 players 3 weeks before the season started. At that point most players had signed for clubs and the players I had lined up declined knowing we did not have much of a squad.
So yes we got tanked...big time, but we are keeping the club going and thats all I can do at this point.

Was in 'exactly' the same position, so know how you feel and what your going through.
Unlike you though, I would be throwing any cheap digs.
Wish Penarol well, and hope yous get through this. Its not a good position to be in.

Its not a good position to be in. The difference Ally is that we have a fantastic set up at Penarol. Probably the best in the BSML. Backroom is second to none. We will evenually sign players with quality to get us out of this but it may take time so fielding a team of youngsters against a very good Carniny side is my only option to keep the club going. Have got some excellent players currently signed, but unfortunately they are not committed to the club. At Masserene mate, you had to do it all....different at Penarol. Thanks for your kind words.

Best set up in the BSML my arse. You have your own pitch granted, but it slopes from top to bottom and doesnt take the water too well. Yes, you also have your own changing rooms, but you have to admit, they are not up to the standard that most other teams are available to. Backroom is one thing, but a reasonable team is another. Take a look at the likes of Michelin and their set up. Best facilities in Junior football and a great backroom. Unfortunately they are under acheivers (coming from an ex player). Its a bit lame considering your background that you are trying to justofy a 14.0 defeat. You should be able to muster some sort of a team to at least put up a fight. Carniny are good but not that good.

Carniny are good but not that good. 14-0 is unjustifiable....why would I even try. I have stated the clubs position. My point was not to try and undermind any other club in the BSML, it was purely a statement to say something good about the club at present rather than the dismal performance of my team. I am aware that Michelin have excellent facilities and yes, some of the council facilities that teams play on are also excellent. FC Penarol are self funded, having to raise the money each year to pay rates, electric etc. We also have to maintain our own pitch. That takes a lot of work from a lot of people. And that has to be congratulated. The club is still going and thats the goal for the season. Saturday was probably the lowest point in the clubs history, so it cant get any worse. And stevie, I will leave your arse to someone else.... ;D

Maybe Michelin have been under achievers because the likes off urself left them at a time when they needed committed players to help achieve wat they wanted, Now we are doing our best to run the club as professionally as we can for a Junior club.We now have a WAGs committee that raises money to help the club get the things it needs so that we can maybe get things right on the pitch. As for Penarol i personally wonder how Carniny felt on sat as i dont think i would have got any pleasure out off winning by that scoreline against a great club that finds itself on hard times this is just MOP

Maybe instead of hitting the net ally, carniny players should of put them over the bar and kept it about 3 or 4-0... oj by the way before you av a go...

You make a good point Ally, but in the 3 years I spent at the Mitch, there probably wasn't a more dedicated player than me. In my opinion, the club actually over achieved in that period with the squad of players available. There are only a couple of that squad currently still playing in the 1st div and quite a few in the 2nd/3rd. Anyway, some players just get a feeling that it's right to move on sometimes whether it's the right decision or not. At least you seem to be getting the club going the right direction and hopefully you will get them back where they belong. In the 1st division!

Not having a go at u personally Stevie just seems that there is not a lot of loyalty now a days i would rather build a club where the team spirit is good and players want to be a part of it and in that respect i think we r getting it right. As for putting them over the bar all im saying is that i personally would not have any enjoyment in doing that dont get me wrong would like to beat teams well but that score just does not do it for me

So yes we got tanked...big time, but we are keeping the club going and thats all I can do at this point. I think the problem you faced at Penarol was you took over at a really bad time prob as bad of squad of players as theres been in years at Penarol and the few decent players that were there didt give a toss about the club. Imo i think if you had of come the season before just giving Finaly a hand getting to no the players you would got players to sign i honestly think players didt sign cause they didt know you. Obviously this was impossible as you were managing Athletic but i do think it would of worked. The committee are no doubt 2nd to none the money they raise the work they put in to maintain the pitch/changing rooms and all the other stuff thats taken for granted. Im sure if it wast for them this club would of folded along time ago. Bremner i dont no if your including me in your post i hope not as i thought i was always totally honest with you form start to finish.
