Having played against both a couple times this season, Ballykeel IMO are the better team and will deserve to go up if they win.
If you keep Smiley quiet for North End, your half way there to beating them.
Ballykeel have Justy Rowe, Mark Mckay, even Bonnsy and Big Jourjani (sp) can change a game in a split second.

cheers mitty and cat, no bigger incentive tonight than a place in the first division for the first time in the club's history. all form tho does go out the window on final's night as was proved by connor a couple of years ago when they beat us in the final after we had hammered them twice in the league that year. if justy rowe and Jorjani continue their recent good form i cant see an upset here, but time will tell, not long to kick off now.

Once big Jorgani went off they had to change their game of playing it long, but didnt do it. Not taking anything away for North end, played well and probably could've and shouldve scored more. They'll need a few new players in though to stay in division 1! |

Once big Jorgani went off they had to change their game of playing it long, but didnt do it. Not taking anything away for North end, played well and probably could've and shouldve scored more. They'll need a few new players in though to stay in division 1! northend wil get it tight, but i think even with the squad they have they could stay up, some very poor sides in div 1! |

who got the goals? good game? i only saw the last 20 minutes, when northend were 4-2 up and were at that stage the better team by a mile. goals from smiley 2, kevin higgins and big agnew. think watto pulled off a few outstanding saves at 2-2. |

first of all i'd like to congratulate Northend on their win last night and wish them the best of luck in division 1 next year. i think over the period of the game they came out worthy winners as half the keel team just seemed to bottle it and not turn up for the final.
it wouldn't be me if i didn't pass comment on the referee and the game as i saw it considering i wasn't playing (go into that later). The referee had a f**king shocker, lets be honest here. The game started off pretty even until the ref gives Northend a penalty. With their striker racing into the box a perfectly timed tackle from aaron balmer had the ref pointing to the spot to the amazement of the big crowd gathered. (He got some abuse for it and rightly so). After this the keel came right back into it and a blatant hand ball saw justy rose equalise from the spot. shortly after big Jorjani scored with his head to put the keel 2 - 1 up. at this stage it was all ballykeel and but for poor finishing and a superb save from the Northend keeper this game would have been put to bed by half time. all credit to northend who weathered the storm and equalised with the last kick of the first half. a northend player was left unmarked to score with a great header and send the teams in level at the break.
this game turned on its head for the keel 15 mins into the second half. with the ref about to blow for a tug on a keel player inside their own box, unbelievably he played on and with a tug on a northend shirt he did it again, PENALTY, UNBELIEVABLE (another shocker). the penalty was saved but the keel defence fell asleep as the rebound was tapped home by an onrushing player. northend gained in confidence from this and started knocking the ball about for fun. with the score at 3 -2 their keeper pulled off a stunning save to thwart a pile driver from justy rowe as he somehow managed to tip his effort over the bar. with about 20 mins to go smiley raced through a static keel defence to cooly slot home and more or less kill this game off. northend had more half chances to extend their lead but couldn't manage another goal. young bull scored a cracking volley in the last minute for ballykeel but it was to little to late.
Thats two play off finals we have been beaten in, in the last 3 years and two that i have not played in. Having captained and played the full game against michelin in the semi-final and to get only 10 mins in the final is pretty disappointing to say the least. Having bee associated with this club for more than 15 years no one is hurting more that i am today, but just have to get on with it and look ahead to next year.
i'll finish off by saying well done to northend again and to tell the ref to give it f**king up, you were shocking and you know it.

Doc I was there and watched the match last night mate and I think your report is spot on. The first Northend penalty was never a penalty I was level with it and the defender definately got the ball. Big smiley had a great game for Northend as did the center midfielder Law he never stopped running all night. As for the keel I also think some players bottled it for you mate. I got slated earlier for having an opinion on a referee but I have to agree with you mate John had a f**king shocker. Mate theres always a form for you with us next season if you fancy doing sweeper for us in the 3rd  Good luck mate next season from Lisnafillan Swifts Big Stan |

Doc, just wanted to give my tuppence worth as I was at the game and wanted Ballykeel to win. Your commentary on the game in my opinion seems a bit one sided. I thought neither of the first 2 penalties should have been given. 1st WAS a great tackle and the 2nd ball hit a pace at a defender (3 yards away) whose arms stayed glued to his sides and couldn't do anything about it. The 2nd Northend penalty was a blatant one so you shouldnt have any arguments with it. Right enough Jimmy Devine does have a lot of shockers but what referee doesn't? Unlucky last night and better luck next year.

However, if we had have been in the final, I would have fancied our chances, in fact even if it had of been North End, still would have fancied our chances
