Tomorrow night will see the end of April at least. Something like 10 or 11 games in 30 days!
5 league games left (in no order)
Seven Towers (h) Inter Stars (h) Demense (h) Inver (h) Shore (a)
Big effort needed to try and get 2nd place as I would possibly die if we had to play extra games in the playoffs.

Looks like a right and tough run in for the Blackstone. Could it be any tougher.
Yous have had a decent side for long enough. I fancy yous to get something out of this season. Go for it!

Sammy Moore Cup run and injury crisis have done us no favours whatsoever... i'm aching all over today - can hardly sit at my desk, never mind walk.
Massive effort needed for remaining league games - some turn around from September tho after our 7-1 humiliation at Cullybackey so we can hold our heads high!!!

Next 2 league games:
Wed 7th May – Inter Stars Sat 10th May – Seven Towers
These teams are 1st and 2nd in league so will be really tough.

3 league games left.
Thurs- Inver Sat- Inter Stars Mon- Shore
Think the Shore and Inter Stars games were swapped due to Inter Stars cup run or something.
Need to win all 3 and they are all very hard games especially with injuries and boys missing but still possible.
Not happy about game being changed from Wed to Thurs. At start of mid week games we told its Monday/wed/sat so plan work and kids etc. to keep them nights free. Then they just decide to move it to a Thursday because of Rangers. We played on nights of CL semi finals which for most of our team is bigger than UEFA cup final. Rant over! (As you might be able to tell I'm one of the players missing Thurs night game)

You think you have it bad? Last night at the meeting i had to go to Monte and tell him that Shore hadnt played away to Cloughmills, he was just going to finish the league without the fixture, so the only time we could get it in was this Thursday. A fecking mid-week game away to Armoy. Probably have to leave Antrim at Lunchtime.

There was no ref and we only found out two minutes before we phoned you, infact several of our own players had already travelled from belfast, so it was hardly done on purpose!!!

Do Towers not play Wakehurst tomorrow night or has it been moved to Saturday?

Did you not see the size of their squad lazio? They can send one team to play wakehurst, another down to watch inver and a third team for 5-a-side training!!! Is it any wonder we've struggled with this run-in when that's what your up against! If we have 11 men standing for a game, then its a result!

Possibly answering my own question here, maybe it is so that both our last games are played on Monday night if it went right down to the wire.

its going to be an exciting final game then lads

Post by etk on May 15, 2008 22:17:26 GMT
Unfortantly not as exciting as we should have made it after drawing tonight. Towers would need to lose against Wakehurst which is unlikly and we would have to beat Inter Stars and Shore and on current form that looks unlikly. Injuries and absentees has really caught up with us in the last few league games. We still need to get at least a point from last 2 to confirm a place in play offs now.
The race for last play off place is going to be tight, if the 2 teams in 6th and 7th are tied on points does it go on goal difference?

No, it goes on the results between the two teams during the season
|
|
|
Post by etk on May 15, 2008 22:49:46 GMT
Cheers Fade, that means we don't need a point to secure a play off, lisnafillan at best can only draw level on points with us and we have the better head to head. If Lisnafillan win both their games they will finish level on points with Westend, what where the scores between the 2 this season cujo?

Does anyone know the score from Cullybackey V Interstars on Monday night

|
|
Post by etk on May 16, 2008 8:00:01 GMT
Think the league table now looks like this Donko,
Pld Pts Inter Stars 23 52 Seven Towers 23 46 Blackstone 22 42 Westend 24 42 Shore 23 42 Cullybackey 23 40 Lisnafillan 22 36

Post by Donko on May 16, 2008 8:23:02 GMT
Strange how you have blackstone above Shore, i calculate you have +13 goal difference and we have +29, and we drew 2-2 so you cant be ahead on head to head
|
|
|
Post by etk on May 16, 2008 8:53:50 GMT
Your right Donko, just had this in excel, our goal difference is balls, we would be behind you and Westend, but goal difference doesn't really count in this league does it? if play off plays go on head to head.
|
|
|
Post by Donko on May 16, 2008 9:22:05 GMT
Yeah, thats why Monday night could be very interesting, whats your head to head with Westend like?
|
|
|
Post by etk on May 16, 2008 9:44:58 GMT
They beat us at very start of season and then we drew. What happens if us Westend & Lisnafillan all end up on same points? we have better head to head against Lisnafillan but not against Westend and Lisnafillan have a better head to head against Westend??
