Match on Thurs night is off I think against ASOB.
Hopefully might get another match pencilled in, since all matches are off this weekend!!

Yeah the Saints have alot out as the Championship match is re-arranged for thursday. Hopfully a set of fixtures will be announced through next week, too many f**king things interfering with our football!!!

same score-line to the same team!!
Wasn't about last week for the first game but I believe that is the first time we have ever beaten Penarol (correct me if im wrong)!
anyway we were far far from a full team last week, so I can only imagine it was the same for Penarol as this would have been our toughtest game to date (on paper anyway)

All Saints 3 - 2 Waveney Swifts
Unlucky result for the Waveney as All Saints progress into the next stage of the O'Kane Cup.
First goal for All Saints came from a Des Lemon Free kick, which the Waveney keeper couldnt hold, and was knocked in by Big McGarry (I think). Second goal was a header from a corber and came from McGarry again. A well taken goal. Waveney found it hard to keep up with the pace at times, but had a chance cleared off the line and a few missed chances in the box - so it wasnt all 'one-way traffic!'.
Second half Waveney came out quite strong, and hit the back of the net through an overhead kick from Gavin B from 18 Yards. This spurred Waveney on and had most of the play for around 30 miniutes.
A few changes were needed and Super-Sub Barry Birt (AKA Ole Gunnar Solksjaer), hit the top corner with a great strike from 20 yards to bring the game to 2-2.
Unfortunatlely Waveney couldnt hold on, and All Saints pressure eventually got the better when Paul Hefforn go the ball from 14 yards on the left hand side and slotted home for All Saints in the final minute of the game.
A good game from both teams, played in good spirit throughout.
Looking forward to the next one!!

being a bit nice to yourselves pele10, i notice you didnt mention the 6 or 7 one on ones we missed, and as for you's having most of the play for 30 mins, i must have missed those 30 mins, cos we battered you's for 80 of the 90 mins, with you's probably having more of the play in the first 10 mins. as for gavin b's goal, what a goal i must admit, but surely he shouldnt have been on the pitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for Gav, I have no opinion on it. Blood being thicker than water and all that! As i said, I think we did have MOST of the play for 30 minutes in the middle of the game. We created a good few chances. Being honest, you didnt BATTER us, but you's did play well and had the majority overall. Credit where credits due, you did have about 6 - 7 one on ones missed, but if you want to be 'petty' , did our Keeper, the legend that is Rick Fulton, not save them all!  |
