LOST
CHRIS THOMPSONS' PACE, LAST SEEN ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO SOMEWHERE IN THE BALLYMENA AREA.
OWNER WOULD APPRECIATE ITS RETURN IF FOUND TO SAVE HIM RUNNING ROUND THE TRAINING PITCH LIKE A BESTERT IN A VAIN ATTEMPT TO GET SOME OF IT BACK.
....OR MAYBE ILL JUST CHANGE TO THE STEVIE MELLON DIET OF A MODERN DAY ATHLETE. YES, THATS IT, INGENIOUS! STEVIE MY MAN, I OWE YOU ONE.

Not sure where your pace went but Pete Stevenson definitely doesn't have it. Did you see him in training last night. He was last in just about every run - it's a good thing that he can run all day. As for Dougie (Peter Beardsley with fair hair and a couple of inches taller) it's well seen that he's the club captain. Some of the calls for him winning the sprints were unbelieveable. Don't know what favours he's promised Jonny and Darren.
Was David Beckham playing for demesne the other night. Saw someone who strutted about like him and hit the odd free kick and corner with the identical technique, seemed to have a new hair colour though but thats to be expected. Loooked pretty rubbish though so nothing's changed there.
Did McNabb throw himself to the ground at any stage. Rumour has it that McNabb along with the 3 gregg's are into a bit of gymnastics (leotards, tutu's and all that, someone said they liked dressing up - as fairies) they seem unable to stay on their feet and their dives/forward rolls/somersaults just aren't convincing.

How many of youse have gone through an operation and nearly died?? Its a credit im still playing. How many boys would be still going after an operation on a lacerated groin muscle, a fractured eye socket and near loss of my eye, a broken ankle and recurring ankle ligament problems as a result, osteitis pubis, sciatica, a serious skull gash and migranies?? Hih??

Parker says you're playing 2 touch on Tuesday night ratman and if you take any more then you'll be substituted. It's a good job the same rule doesn't apply for becks23 or he wouldn't last any more than 5secs. Be a close contest tomorrow night - Portglenone had a great result at the weekend - they beat Glebe on pens. I'm expecting a lot from you lot though. A good win could put you top of the table for the first time in the club's history!

You guys are going to have to cut out all this slagging - i'm only new here. Only came on to try and help Chris find his pace and gather a few thoughts on the match tomorrow night but all you lot seem interested in is having a go at me. Any predictions for the match? What do you think the starting XI will be? What will Arfur's strategy be and what tactics will he employ?

Any predictions for the match? What do you think the starting XI will be? What will Arfur's strategy be and what tactics will he employ? Sugar my man, i think we can forget about finding my pace for a while. Its going to be a long winters slog on the training pitch before the old afterburners are smoking again, but i know the potentials there just waiting to be released, watch this space. I think i need to concentrate on being able to run the length of myself before i worry about how quickly i can do it. looking forward to the match tomorrow should be a good contest but by the sounds of things we seem to have a pretty strong outfit turning up so id be disappointed if we didnt beat them. like everybody i hope im starting 'cause my ankle injury seems to have cleared up a treat (fingers crossed) although the now legendary thompson lack of fitness could play a part from about the 5th minute if im on. was speaking to my cousin today who plays for portglenone and he says the romanian guy who plays midfield for them is a class act, although i dont know if hes bulls**tting me or not, but who cares one man doesnt make a team and even if he does hes gettin wrecked early on! arfurs tactics? 'lads at the back you need to stop conceding goals and up front we need to take our chances' brilliant! the mans a genius! footballs a simple game why complicate it with fancy tactical nonsense!

Well, arthur has been known to deploy a fluid 4-3-3 back in the day, but hell maybe go for a more orthodox 4-4-2 tonight. Arthur will have studied his opponents, hell know them inside out and will know which formation is best suited. But the tactics wont even matter hell have the players so fired up, ready to go out and get ripped in.
Rite, the team theday is Andy in nets, uuuh, aaron, naw. Houl on a minute. AJ in nets, Chris right back, dougie and.... dougie and, uuuuh, who wants to play centre back?? Four midfielders are mellon, sledgehammer, adie and tanner.
Rite boys, this is a hard match today. Its the cup, so it doesnt matter, but if we get through well play carniny and we havent much chance of beating them. While were all here lads, can we all bring our pounds to training. This referee is friggin crap, so no offsides. He refereed West End Riverdale last week and sent two boys off. It was a terrible match. Were playing riverdale next week, and were expected to beat them. Is there anybody wont be available next week??

becks23 - have to disagree with a couple of your selections. Chris T at centre back - have you ever seen the guy head a ball. Even in the old days when he was a bit of a legend at demesne he'd rather take it on the throat than head it - didn't want to mess the hair and couldn't afford to lose the brain cells. Other contentious decision is Mc Sammy, sorry, Sammy Mc. Club captain on the bench? Is he still el capitano by the way. Know he's guilty of some of the latest, clumsiest tackles Smithfield has ever seen but that's a big call.

Lets not forget that woman absolutely love chocolate, the sweetest of all the substances. Flair players like myself need more protection and encouragement from team 'mates' rather than ridicule . Were fighting a constant battle against referees, neandrathals and sleggers, but if it wasnt for us the game would drown in a sea of tactics, organisation and fitness. The fans dont want to see two banks of four and a narrow midfield, they want to see dribbling, passion and theatre. If the chocolate men melt, football dies.
