Ballykeel f.c. received a letter this morning from the Country Antrim F.A. informing Ballykeel that they are hereby suspended from all football from monday 21st November 2005 until May 2007. This decision was made by the Junior Shield Comittee and is of course subject to appeal. As i've been made aware Ballykeel will be able to play fixtures during the appeal process but how it has come to this has to be one of the biggest f**kin jokes to come out of the County Antrim F.A. ever. Hopefully justice will prevail in this incident and not the madness that the Junior Shield Comittee has come up with. To have Ballykeel kicked out of the saturday morning league over the head of an inept referee in the Junior Shield is just madness. Any comments would be appreciated.

Both our manager and secretary were suspended for ten and twelve matches respectively for verbally abusing the referee for making some of the maddest decisions your ever likely to see on a football pitch, but to suspend the team on the basis of this is utter madness.

They were the only two dishing it out and each received fines and suspensions so why didn't it end there as with your manager instead of suspending the whole team as well when they weren't involved.

seems a bit steep lads, good luck with appeal. if its sidelines abusing refs then players shouldnt be punished. lets hope they dont make an example of you.

f**k me.......thats harsh the whole team shafted. i thought we would be feelin down after our wee slap (-10 points) on the wrist, but thats s**ty. if your ban isnt lifted cant u come back as a team with a differant name next year, rather than wait a further season......like Ballykeel Celtic?
good luck with the appeal, it would be a loss if we wernt able to play one of the top teams in our division. although surely by now the players and staff know that the refs outside the ballymena league dont take any s**t whatsoever. the refs in our league often tend to turn a blind eye to the slabberin, but else were they dont.
anyway goodluck

Joe got a call from ian on the boat to scotland, just happened to bump into Monty who kindly informed him that no ref had been allocated for our match. Had we known the night before Galgorm could have been informed but no, ourselves and Galgorm would have stood waiting on a ref to turn up when the fact was there was none for our game.

especially in the 2nd Division, you get used to it in the third Division, maybe there was more to there being no referee allocated on Sat than meets the eye. paranoia i know.

Ban was very surprising and a big wake up call to all other teams. Good luck with the appeal but I cant see the old farts at the County Antrim FA changing the decision. I have personal experience of the way they work. I received a 12 game ban and £100 fine for headbutting a player last year and even though the player told the ref that I didnt, he still put the report through. When I phoned the Secretary at the Co Antrim FA to ask about the proper course of action to appeal, he laughed at me and said there was no point. This shows that no matter what the ref says, be it the truth or not, they will always take his report as gospel. Good luck keel.

What can i say lads apart from its a big disgrace. Personally i believe they're tryin to make an example of ya's, which is totally uncalled for!! U's r a team i was happy to see doin well, with alot of talented players. I wish u all my luck with the appeal, and hope that we'll be laughing and joking about it on here soon after u win the appeal!!
